Interview with Las Vegas High Roller

Investors and High Rollers have been a crucial part of Las Vegas , ever since Californian hotel operator Thomas Hull built the first hotel and Casino El Rancho back in the middle of the Mojave Desert on a dusty stretch of road called Highway 91, the town of Las Vegas has never looked back.

Not long after El Rancho featured its first air-conditioned cowboy ranch themed hotel with its revolutionary neon billboard windmill looming over across the empty desert floor, mobster and hitman Bugsy Siegel came looking to invest with his partner Meyer Lansky’s drug money , after hearing about lucrative legalized gambling. Shortly after, Ben Siegel bought El Cortez for $600,000 and selling it for a profit, the legendary Flamingo was taken over and financed by New York Mafia Boss Charles “ Lucky” Luciano and Meyer Lansky joint adventure. It wasn’t long after that, the Mafia lead the way, moving Las Vegas forward, building the Sahara, the Sands, the New Frontier, the Riviera , Golden Nugget, the Desert Inn and Caesars Palace. In fact, they had their fingers-in-the-cookie-jar up until the late 1980’s.

Even though The Mafia mastered casino skimming and money laundering, they were also the first to encouraged a web of wealthy businessmen and politicians to Las Vegas with lucrative perks, such as free accommodations , complimentary wining and dining at the best Gourmet Restaurants, premium cocktails and the best seats at top shows, such as Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra and Frankie Valli, as long as they gambled big in their casino.

It was the beginning of “The Las Vegas High Rollers”.

After the mafia was forcibly removed from Las Vegas, corporate companies moved in , building mega Resorts, ( starting with Steve Wynn at the top of the helm) with The Mirage. Soon after came the Excalibur, the Luxor, Treasure Island, new location of MGM Grand, The Strat, Park MGM, New York, New York, Bellagio ( again by Steve Wynn) , Mandalay Bay, The Venetian, Paris, Planet Hollywood to The Wynn, were all built in from November 22 1989 – April 28 2005 ; and it hasn’t stopped since then.

Today Vegas is the top Entertainment Capital of the World !

With over 37 plus million visitors per year to Las Vegas as of 2023 ; that’s ample room to attract High Rollers across the world.

So, the question is : What makes a High Roller?

To answer that question you need to hear the inside secret life of a High Roller. Lucky for me, I can answer that very question. This week, I had the exclusive privileged to talk to Charles ( aka @ChampChaz02 ) himself , Vegas latest High Roller from the UK.

Interview with Las Vegas High Roller

Here’s our conversation:

ME : Thank you so much for allowing me to interview you Charles. What would you say is the definition of a true Las Vegas High Roller ?

CHARLES : I believe a definition of a high roller is different to everyone. If you see someone gambling more than you can afford or imagine gambling, you would consider them a high roller in your own eyes. I would think it is probably a question for the casino rather than the player.

ME : It’s been said your Casino Host is there to ensure YOU the best experience possible. How do they know what they are allowed to give you as perks. Is there some sort of percentage mark in how much you gamble?

CHARLES : A host’s job is to make everything as seamless as possible for a high value player. From booking suites, transportation, dinner or show reservations to tickets to events. A good host will only need an initial email or call for the dates you want to stay, Flight number, where and when you want to eat and what show or sports events you want to attend. Once you let them know what you want to do on the trip that’s it consider it done I don’t need to worry about any organization it’s in good hands from the minute I step off the plane. A host can pretty much get you anything if it is available to the casino and you are gambling enough money historically. I have told people in the past “Closed mouths do not get fed” just ask. Boxing, UFC and F1 tickets Done! Reservations to fully booked restaurants? Done! Rooms for family or friends while you are in Vegas? Done! Always ask as a good host will do everything in their power to get it done,

ME : Is it true your Casino Host can make or break your experience? Have you ever had a bad Casino Host or experience?

CHARLES : I went through a couple bad hosts before I found the one I have now. The first host I had a gentleman approach me at a slot machine “Mr ****? My name is **** I just wanted to come introduce myself, give you my card and invite you over to the VIP check in area/Host office of Mandalay Bay when you get a minute so we can talk about the comps and bonuses I can do for you as a high value player”. I had a 15 minute conversation where he explained if I let him book my next trip I will get a top of the range suite, complimentary limo transportation to and from the airport and a substantial raise in free play and resort credit.

So I thought why not and contacted him before my next trip and he delivered on his promise but he called my suite daily asking me to visit the office when I had a minute. A day later or so and slightly annoyed with the calls I paid him a visit where he gave me this mafioso style talk about how I have a friend in Vegas now and any problems I have I should come to him. He then went on to say we should go to dinner and that if I looked after him then he would look after me and suggested a restaurant and time to which I declined. I didn’t travel half way around the world and work hard to wine and dine someone I don’t know so that was the last time I spoke to him.

I then went to book my next trip via the phone app to stay at the Mirage (still MGM at this point) to which I received a phone call from the host saying I wouldn’t be eligible for the free play and resort credit I had booked via the app because he was my host and I was registered to the Mandalay Bay and him. Not caring and not needing these comps I went ahead with my trip and paid a visit to the hosts office where the host I met assured me that wasn’t the case. She took me over to the VIP upgraded my suite to a penthouse suite and credited my account with the free play and resort credit I booked via the app with a little more on top and just like that I had a new host.

The relationship with this host for a couple years was great up until the point the MGM sale of The Mirage was rumoured. At this point we noticed our comps slightly decreased despite more play and the final bill being comped less and less. My host kept dropping into conversation that when “we” move to Hardrock things will be better and I got suspicious she was holding back comps to make Hardrock look more appealing. This was then confirmed when she invited us to go and see new the new Mad Apple show at New York New York with 15 other VIPs followed by a cocktail reception in Mirage’s top villa where we can talk our move to Hardrock and how much better it will be because MGM are getting tight with big players.

Luckily, I had met my current host at Yellowtail in Bellagio when we had dinner with a group of friends who she was with. She asked for my rewards number and called me the next day to say I was due so much more as a Noir member and to come be hosted with her since my host was staying on at Mirage to join Hardrock. It was exactly what I did and never looked back ; my current host is amazing. I also had a terrible host at Caesars but that is probably a story for another time —haha.

ME : Are you allowed to name a Good Host or Hosts you would recommend? And, are they on Twitter ( X) ?

CHARLES : I wouldn’t name my host or recommend her unless I knew the person and the level someone was playing at. She does not need a bunch of people calling her up and its a relationship I wouldn’t risk. Many people have reached out to me on X/Twitter where I would pass on host information she has recommended but never my own.

High Roller Gift Perks / Photo Credit: Charles

ME : Can you name and describe some of the Best Vegas Accommodations you have stayed at as a Perk offered by your Host ?

CHARLES : My favourite suite I have stayed in was the one-bedroom Lakeview Penthouse suite in the Bellagio. It was for a trip on my birthday I got picked up from Harry Reid international in a Rolls Royce Phantom and whisked straight to the suite where a big cake, some gifts and some magnums of Bollinger were waiting for us on arrival. I just felt appreciated and well looked after.

I also have to give a shout out to the penthouse suite at Crockfords it has all the modern gadgets and technology in the room including Japanese toilets & hand held massagers. It also has the most comfortable bed I ever slept in ; if those slots were not calling my name I can stay in that bed all day.

ME : What kind of Percentage do you tip the Host ? Or do you tip your Host ? Aren’t they already taking a percentage from your gambling?

CHARLES : I am not aware of any percentage a host makes from me and to be honest that because I have never asked. My host takes great care of me and if she is making money good for her. When I first tried to tip my host she said “no no we are not allowed to take anything it could be seen as bribery” . So I wouldn’t like to say anything here that can get anyone in any trouble but I can assure you she is as happy with the relationship as we are.

ME : I understand if you’re flying Private into Vegas , you’ll land at Atlantic Aviation or Signature Flight Support. Have you received free VIP PRIVATE Jet Service? Is that even offered coming from the UK ?

CHARLES : As for Flying private I own and run a business that requires me to be in the USA for about 6 months of the year , each year. I have flown private into Las Vegas from California or Seattle but that is at my own expense. You arrive at the private terminal at Harry Reid and are picked up plane side or just passed the lobby. I am not aware of any Jet service from the UK ; I believe it is just too far for that , but I can be wrong. Also, some Las Vegas casinos will refund your airfare if you fly commercial multiple times a year if you play at a certain level.

ME : On Twitter I noticed you showed us photos of the VIP Private Limousine Service. Do you have a favourite host driver you like to give a shoutout for ?

Luxury MGM Rolls Royce Phantom/ Photo Credit: Charles

CHARLES: I actually don’t they have many drivers and every single one that has picked me up has been fantastic and I have never asked for a certain driver. But I will give a shout out to people that do take care of me on a regular basis. Hussain who works in the Bellagio VIP area is absolutely a gem of a man and a personal friend ; he was working room service on July 4th so we made sure to order some and ask for him especially so he could catch the fireworks with us from the suite.

Anne who works in the retail store which used to be by the Bellagio elevators , (but has since been closed down now ) she is at Park. Anne and my partner immediately clicked , and we are always greeted with a massive hug and keep in contact.

I also can’t forget to mention some bar staff, Richard at the Bellagio Center Bar, Juan in the High Limit Bar at Park MGM and Carlos at the Aria High Limit Bar. They have always looked after us with impeccable service and friendship. A shout out to the slot attendants at Bellagio also , they always remember us and come up to say hi.

ME : While in United States do you mix business with pleasure? Have you wine and dined a client while in Vegas ?

CHARLES: I have had held business events in Vegas, Boston & Atlantic City casinos. A lot of my clients will attend massive expos in Las Vegas , like ShopTalk & Black Hat , and what better way to catch up with multiple people and sign some new deals , than dining in the best city in the world while they are all in one place. We recently had private events at Prohibition Bar Mandalay Bay and Carbone at the ARIA.

ME : What kind of meals or restaurants have you been Comped ?

CHARLES : I have not paid for a meal at a MGM property in over 5 years and have ate at them all! I just charge absolutely every meal and drink I have to my room, also Spa & Salon treatments, Laundry and whatever else you can imagine can be charged to the room. This will then be fully comped at the end of the stay (Based on play of course which is never a problem). The only thing that can’t be comped off the bill are tips charged to the room & retail.

ME : Do Hosts offer greeting gifts in your room? And if so, what have they surprised you with?

CHARLES : Yes! My recent trip to see the formula 1 race in Las Vegas had a limited-edition Bellagio F1 box with champagne & chocolates waiting for me. The gifts vary from gift boxes of Bulgari or Chanel products to champagne & snacks. Last Christmas we were gifted a couple of watches after arrival as a present which was great.

ME : Would you like to share what you do or rather keep that private?

CHARLES: 8 years ago I was on a construction site and I took a chance on a business idea that is doing well. That is all I will say as because I post on social media which evidently leads to disagreement, I have been told by my host people, who have called the hotel, trying to obtain information about me in the past. I can only imagine it is for negative purposes so I would rather not.

ME : When in Vegas do you and your partner indulge in the Night Life at Premium Clubs ? For example, enjoy the experiences at Wynn Nightlife (XS, Intrigue, Encore Beach Club) ? Does your wife/partner enjoy the Spa at any of the Vegas Resorts? If so, is that part of a Perk offered by your host ?

CHARLES: As a MASSIVE fight fan, in the past I have attended nightclubs for the fighter afterparties. It really is not my scene ; its far to busy ; I spent most of the evening telling people to not sit in my booths and leave mine and my parties drinks alone. Its way to hectic for me — haha.

The Spa is more our scene coming from the UK we are usually in Vegas for a week or more , so you need to take a day or two in the middle of the trip to relax, detox and get fresh again for the last part of the trip. The spa and any salon treatments we just charge to the room to be comped at the end.

ME : In 2023 F1 ( Formula One Grand Prix ) made its comeback debut since its first appearance in Las Vegas 41 years ago. Do you agree it was a success? What made this event so special? And will you be back next year ?

CHARLES: For me it was a massive success! I have been to Silverstone and Singapore GP’s in the past and Las Vegas blew both of those away by miles. I was at the front of the stand right by the start/finish line and the whole place was like a festival! Complimentary food & drink from Wolfgang Puck, DJ’s and immersive experiences like VR. I know the tone and trend on social media is that the locals hated it and it was a massive failure but I think that is more wishful thinking and fitting in rather than common knowledge. Time will tell if it was a success, I can imagine people reporting it a failure are more concerned with being first than accurate. I will 100% be there next year unless something major stops me being there I can’t wait.

ME : Of course, everyone likes to know if you’ve won big in Vegas ? If you care to keep this quiet I understand.

CHARLES: I am a slot player first and yes I have won big. My single biggest win/hit is just over 22k but I have had nights of multiple large wins where I have taken 60 to 80k up to the safe after a session. Sometimes you can’t miss and other times you can’t win a thing and losses of the same kind of value happen.

When I first visited Vegas after my business success I used to play High Limit Blackjack at The Mirage where I could win or lose 20/30k over the course of the weekend. Going up in value of a wager is addictive and once you have tasted success of big wins the smaller ones don’t taste the same.

ME : Sometimes I find Social Media toxic due to those individuals on X ( aka Twitter) who are jealous or just plain mean. How do you deal with these kind of people?

For example: For me personally, I have found individuals have block me for no reason other than they must be jealous or envy of what I do. I have had three separate careers in my life and found that, unless you’re a celebrity, they don’t value your life experiences.

Actually, there are two individuals who follow you but block me — such strangeness lol. I am a freelance writer, author and longtime Executive Chef (who is retired from that trade now). My company “ Canadian Northwest Publishing “ have published two books now ; Canadian Recipes of the Great White North “ and a science fiction horror thriller, “ Black Angels”.

Question : Do you find people are jealous and envy what you have and they don’t have ?

CHARLES: Firstly, congratulations on your success.

ME : Thank you so much 😊

CHARLES: I think social media is mostly about people’s opinions , and disagreement comes with the package. I don’t think people are jealous of my lifestyle but I do believe they get jealous of the attention my trips bring. We have a saying here in the UK “Those that do, DO and those that don’t TEACH” It is the self titled experts of any topic place or locations that are the most toxic on social media and nine times out of ten they are the people that do none of the things they have declared to be an expert at.

ME : Is there anything else you would like to share with your viewers about becoming or having the lifestyle of a High Roller ?

CHARLES: The lifestyle is great and I do post all my wins and trips around the world @champchaz02 on X so follow me there ; I am just a guy in my 30’s living life and having fun , with it don’t take it to personally. I have experienced Las Vegas from the low end to the high end and Vegas is what you make of it , regardless of budget, but having a heavy pocket does help —haha. Thanks for having me I will be back in Vegas at the end of January.

ME : Thank you once again Charles for allowing me to interview you; so appreciated it ! I personally find your lifestyle quite interesting and satisfying. Am I envious? No. I just pretend what life would be like as a High Roller where money was never an issue. Experiencing Vegas as a High Roller would be amazing 🤩 with all those perks . It would be cool to follow your steps in one day of luxury. Mind you , don’t expect me dressing the part, due to the fact I can’t afford it lol.

It was indeed a pleasure to talk to you Charles.

In Conclusion:

Did you know accommodations offered to High Rollers aren’t even available to Hollywood Celebrities unless they too spent that kind of coin in Las Vegas? During the World Series of Poker it’s likely you’ll see Hollywood actors, Ben Affleck , Matt Damon and Spider-Man’s Tobey Maguire . Even though they spend a moderate amount of cash at the tables, it’s not even close to what a High Roller will spend in four days.

Who knew there were different levels of celebrities in Las Vegas ?

Only the High Rollers will receive a luxury Chairman Suite at Palazzo featuring 6,367-sq ft, its own private bar and pool, spa and sauna equipped with your very own Butler.

At Caesars Palace, High Rollers will ask for the 9,420-square-foot, three-bedroom Marcus Aurelius Villa full of grand amenities your friends will surely envy. As said on Caesars Palace website, it features “Over-the-top luxuries include an exotic fish tank, double-sided fireplace, grand piano, billiard room, media room with theater-style seating and massage chairs. Live the luxe life with your own private terrace, complete with spa tub and fire pit.” And yes ! The experienced trained Butler is included, providing service beyond your wildest dreams. Your Butler will make sure you’ll experience the best luxury even adventurous Tom Cruise would gasp ; at a cost of $45,000 per night ! So you see, if a High Roller receives this room as a perk, you can only imagine what they spent at the tables or slot machines.

There’s also secret High Limit Rooms only High Rollers are allowed to visit.

Another great perk High Rollers will receive is a helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon featuring a gourmet lunch and Champagne . Of course, a private SUV Limo will be waiting for them from their favourite Vegas Resort. The options of pure Vegas luxury literally has no end, as long as it’s legal. Can you imagine asking your host for a “Private Shopper” while you gamble, collecting your winnings ? If money wasn’t an obstacle, what kind of luxury is in your dreams ?

My kind of accommodation I’m partial to would be the 10,000-square-foot Marc Antony Villa at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. Maybe in my next life …

Ancient Roman Colosseum “Flavian Amphitheatre”

Did you know the historical Roman Colosseum was named “Flavian Amphitheatre ”[ Latin : Amphitheatrum Flavium Italian :” Anfiteatro Flavio”] after three emperors during the Flavian dynasty ?

In short, the Flavian dynasty ruled Rome Empire from AD 69 – 96 by Roman Emperor Vespasian and after his death, by his two sons, Titus and Domitian.

The Flavian Amphitheatre was built in order to distract Roman citizens from the financial burden imposed by the former psycho, Emperor Nero. In fact, Roman never really recovered from Nero’s footprint. The clever Vespasian outsmarted his revel’s more then once, and the Grand Flavian Amphitheatre wasn’t any different. He financially built the Amphitheatre with the Jewish War spoils and by using the wealth of his Senators. Under the careful eye of Vespasian, the Senators were sponsors. In other words, it was in the Senates best interest to offer their wealth to the people of Rome. As a sponsor, the Senators received cutbacks in taxes, plus other benefits. Such as, they’re families were spared from hardship. In turn, the Senators promoted their favourite Gladiators, whom the Roman people loved and honoured. It was a great way to get the peoples support to the Senate.

On the outside Emperor Vespasian seemed like a good emperor, however, he was just another good politician. In fact, he secretly stole his wife’s grandfather’s wealth by having him killed. He also renewed old taxes and created new ones, increasing taxes to each provinces, while keeping a watchful eye upon the treasury officials. Eventually his greed got the best of him, with his own people killing him on the streets. Politicians have followed his lead for centuries, even today, where there’s new taxes imposed on a yearly basis. When an economy is failing, imposing new taxes tricks everyone to believe the economy is growing, when its not.

Even though millions of slaves and Gladiators were killed during their fight-for-their-life performances, the sporting event was organized with Teams of Gladiators, similar to sport teams of today. Only difference, our teams aren’t butchered.

Thanks to the Romans, they incorporated an ingenious ticketing system; we use the same system today. Of course, in any sporting arena there must be food and drinks available. Interesting, their finger food consist of pork ribs and chicken wings, both dipped in tomato or a salty fish sauce. Again, much like today, except the fish sauce. However, the drinks were not beer (such a shame – lol ) simply because it was classified as a barbarian drink, such as the Germanic Tribes, who the Romans constantly fought with. The Roman drink was, of course, red wine 🍷. Unlike how we drink wine straight from the bottle to the glass, the Romans watered it down. As well, a generous portion of water was always available to prevent drunken riots and fights.

An unfortunate fact : women were only allowed to participate in the nose-bleed section of the Colosseum. Even the Emperor’s wife wasn’t allowed near her husband’s side. Thank goodness for modern times. Never did understand the division of men and women.

Believe it or not, the Flavian Amphitheatre had self flushing toilets ; not exactly like ours today, but a clever use of their engineered aqueducts. Aqueducts simply were buried conduits of stone, brick, or concrete, supplying water to the Colosseum with public baths, latrines and drinking fountains.

Public toilets were indeed public, seating all together in a row, without walls, taking a dump while talking to your neighbour. Oh my god — thank goodness for our modern bathrooms.

The Flavian Amphitheatre was another political ploy, allowing Roman citizens to feel like they’re rubbing shoulders with the elite, with the best part, tickets were free. The Roman Games would make our holiday events look like nothing, in comparison. Games would last as little as 100 days and as long as 1000 days.

Great times for the Romans, not so much for their slaves, animals and Gladiators. They spared no expense to have all kinds of exotic animals, such as tigers, lions, leopards, hippo’s, ostrich’s, bears and elephants. Unfortunately, over a million people and three times that, in animals were brutally slain.

With that being said, the Flavian Amphitheatre was an architectural wonder accommodating over 40,000 spectators. It was 170 ft high (52 m) with an overall perimeter of 1730 ft (527 m) covered in marble, travertine slab stone ( a strong light limestone material) , volcanic rock, Roman invented cement and bronze statues throughout its perimeter.

It’s quite amazing the Flavian Amphitheatre is still standing today, considering all the vandalism throughout history, including natural earthquakes. With its dark history, the Flavian Amphitheatre is a great ancient structure any tourist must see, when visiting Italy 🇮🇹.

Cheers Bari Marcus Anthony

PS — Did you know, Vespasian son, Titus reign had the most destructive natural disasters? Yes, it’s true — In 79 Mount Vesuvius volcano erupted upon Pompeii and Herculaneum. On top of that, a year later, Rome was on fire and had to deal with the Black Plague, at the same time. Go figure! Today, we have to deal with tsunamis, earthquakes and COVID.

Jenni

Today Patricia and I pay remembrance to the passing of our Little girl Jenni. Nov 5th 1980 was and still is one of the most horrific days of our lives. We were living in Calgary; me a young architectural draftsman for UMA ( Underwood & McLellan Associates ) during the day, and Patricia working nights as a bartender for an established high-end restaurant. We couldn’t afford daycare or a babysitter in those days, so we “make do” with the little income we had.

Living in the “Bowness” community just a few minutes from Bowness Park in the neighbourhood and former town in west Calgary, Alberta.

We rented a two bedroom basement duplex a few blocks away from Bow River. Just South of us the city of Calgary was in the process of building the Canada Olympic Park (COP), formerly known as Paskapoo Ski Hill. Canada Olympic Park was one of the venues for the 1988 Winter Olympics, being the primary venue for ski jumping, bobsleigh, and luge.

And — that was the reason WE were in Calgary in 1980. UMA Engineering Firm had one of the contracts to begin designing the Canada Olympic Park, including Site Plans as far away as Kananaskis Country. I was called in from Edmonton UMA firm to begin the 8 year process of planning and development of this huge project. At the time, I was just a Junior architectural draftsman, hand-drawing architectural plans, per instructions from the highly trained Architects and Engineers.

So — the three of us moved to Calgary to further my career as an architectural draftsman. Our first months in Calgary was a happy one. Patricia, Jenni and I would explore Calgary sites, such as the Zoo and the Heritage Park Historical Village where Hollywood western movies were made, such as the classic “ The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford“ starring Brad Pitt ( Jesse James) and Casey Affleck ( Robert Ford).

I remember carrying Jenni around in a kangaroo front pouch so she would be able to see the sites of the Heritage Park Historical Village. Less then a year old, Jenni eye expressions would dictate to us she enjoyed our weekend outings. One weekend we even had the opportunity to visit the town of Banff.

Everything was going well until one evening Jenni seemed more agitated then what we considered normal. As any frightened parent, I phoned our local doctor. Concerned, he made a home visit ( which is totally unheard of these days). He noticed a rash on her body, which seem unusual but not overly strange for babies of her age. He said,” If it persists, take her to the Foothills Hospital and we’ll do a complete check up.

The next evening Jenni became even more agitated with a spiking fever. Her eyes were red and the rash became more announced. It was then I phoned Patricia ( who was working nights) and explained I’m going to take her to emergency at the Foothills. Getting to the hospital, Patricia met me. As any worried parents, we wanted answers. They admitted Jenni ; after trial & error, and many specialized doctors, everyone was totally baffled to why Jenni’s temperature increased to an unsafe level. Every day and night, Patricia and I took turns being there for Jenni. The nurses would cool her down by using cool baths and a constant fan by her bed. No matter what they did Jenni’s temperature became critical. The both of us were complete distraught to the point of exhaustion. It didn’t matter, we would never leave Jenni alone. We held and hugged her as much as possible to show her, everything would be ok, and that, we were there for her.

That evening, it was my shift to be with Jenni. I gave Jenni a cool-down bath and held her some more. She began to show signs of improvement. Jenni was hungry ! That indeed is a good sign, I thought. So I was able to feed her. I remember she smiled at me with contentment.

The nurse came in, urging me, that maybe it’s a good time to go get some rest. Nodding in agreement, I decided she was right. Before putting Jenni back to bed for the night, I kissed her on the cheek. She really looked content, however I noticed her little fingers looked bluish then normal. Concerned I went to the front desk where an Intern was stationed. Explaining what I saw seemed unusual, he just looked at me with his arrogant stance and said,” Are you a doctor ?”

I said,” No. But maybe we can call our doctor ?”

This redhead seemed determined to piss me off, flatly refusing to call my physician. The nurse came over and encouraged me to go home and get some sleep. Shrugging my shoulders, I nodded, but was discouraged over the response of this intern. I knew he thought me as this young kid in my twenties who didn’t know what I was talking about. Giving up the argument, I went home.

The minute I got home, I received a emergency call from one of the nurses, that I had better get back to the hospital as soon as possible. She told me Jenni experienced a cardiac arrest and unfortunately the doctor on-call could not revive her.

Completely in rage, I rushed back to the Foothills hospital in dismay. By the time I arrived, Patricia was holding Jenni in her arms, crying intensely.

Our little Jenni didn’t survive. We were in complete sorrow. Weeks later, we learned Jenni died of severe complications from an unknown disease called Kawasaki disease, also known as mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome.

You can read more about the condition here

The point of all of this is :

1. The time we had with Jenni will be cherished the rest of our lives.

2. Physicians should pay attention to the parents. We may not have the training, but we may have some valuable information that could assist the doctors on call. In Jenni’s case, the bluish fingers could of lead the emergency doctors to act. But due to the arrogance of one intern, Jenni died.

3. If the Kawasaki syndrome is caught in time, death is preventable. Apparently survival rate is 90 percent.

4. Kawasaki disease had puzzled doctors for over 150 years, until recent years. “Dr. Tomisaku Kawasaki, who first described what is now known as Kawasaki Disease (KD), and recent reports of a multisystem inflammatory disease in children associated with the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) (MIS-C), makes a review on KD and MIS-C timely. Kawasaki Disease is a systemic vasculitis with predilection for coronary arteries occurring mostly in early childhood. The main features are high fever, extensive skin rash, cheilitis with red, cracking, bleeding lips and strawberry tongue, conjunctivitis, erythema and induration of hands and feet, subsiding with periungual peeling, cervical lymphadenopathy, and coronary artery dilation/aneurysms.

Due to the COVID virus, Kawasaki disease was brought front and centre, because both coincide with each other. “Atypical Kawasaki disease, Kawasaki-like disease, Kawasaki-COVID-19, paediatric inflammatory multisystem syndrome temporally associated with SARS-CoV-2, macrophage activation syndrome, myocarditis, toxic shock syndrome.” Read more

5. Kawasaki disease is said to be more prominent in children of Asian descent. However, we are not even close to Asian. Just recently, due to the COVID virus more Caucasian children have the Kawasaki disease symptoms. The earliest record symptom was, believe it or not, from London, when, in the year of our lord 1870, a seven year old boy died of this unknown disease. Interesting, Kawasaki disease is prone to attack younger children five years old and younger. It’s strange the symptoms started with a seven year old Caucasian boy. This proves this syndrome isn’t clearly understood, as of yet.

6. The loss of a child is extremely traumatizing to all parents involved. Life goes on, however you never forget such a loss.

7. Time never makes a difference in relationship to the loss.

8. The graphic digital drawing above is what I would like to perceive Jenni’s soul exploring the Cosmic Universes like the fictional, Jedi Rey Skywalker of the Star Wars saga. If Jenni had a chance in life, what would have she achieved?

Today, we have two wonderful daughters, Tianndra and Trisha. They never met Jenni but I believe if they did, would have loved her the same as we do.

In Conclusion, Patricia and I will keep thinking and remembering Jenni’s birth to the day we lost her. As a parent, you’ll always have that worry of your children, hoping they will succeed past you. We worry, we love and we hope.

“May The Force Be With Her Soul Exploring The Afterlife”

Rest In Peace Jenni – We miss and love YOU forever.

I Dream of You

I have this recurring dream running on autopilot my whole life. It’s my belief there must be something universal about this kind of  dream within our spiritual universe where time and space no longer exists.

I DREAM OF YOU

I dream for you with me . I see you in my dreams. You’re on top of the mountain with the wind sweeping your long hair. The view on top of the mountain showcases an endless valley of snow peak jagged mountain peaks with a bluish-green river cutting through the green forest in the far distance.

It all seems like slow motion as you turn your eyes towards me. You smile, happy to see me. It’s like we’ve been apart for a lifetime. I reach out to embrace you. My eyes final focus, you are truly beautiful. I know you. I know you ! It’s been too long and I’m afraid I might never see you again. Our souls touch into one , as our love for each other will never end. No matter how many lives we had apart, we still come back together as one because our love is forever more.

Interpretation

It’s the same dream, but when I awake you’re gone. Alas, one day, as certain as death and taxes, I’m sure to be united once again. It makes you think if there’s indeed reincarnation ; our souls head into the light of a spiritual world, greeted by other souls you seek. Then, without time and space, your soul decides to be reborn. Maybe this is the way…

Making all this more confusing, I see a beautiful woman similar, if not the same, as Sharon Tate. This has been bugging me for some time, so I reached into my artistic creativity, to share with you the face I see. I’m not very good at drawing/painting portraits, but I hope it visualizes what I see.

If you’re not familiar with Sharon Tate, she was an actress who was unfortunately brutally murdered, along with her friends Sebring, Frykowski and Folger on August 9, 1969. Sharon was pregnant, only 26 years old.

At this time in my life, I was only 12 years old. This tragedy really struck a blow to me, a heartache of depression, that I never could understand. The incident certainly left me stunned and bewildered for some time, and I never forgot it.

Could my recurring dream have something to do with it ? I’m not sure, but there seems to be an unconscious connection. Whatever the reason, sometimes I feel loss in this world, seeking for my dream to come true.

Death is NOT Final

A Dream May not be a Dream at all

Death is NOT Final

The event I’m about to tell you is real. No smoking mirrors, just the truth.

It’s my belief Death is NOT the final word. There’s life after life, we like to refer to as the Spiritual world. Unfortunately we have a hard time convincing ourselves of that, unless we had the experience of being brought back to life after a tragic accident. It’s like anything else in life, if you haven’t experienced it your brain can’t conceive it’s true.

We are hardwired for scientific facts. If we can’t explain it, see or hear it, it doesn’t exist.

Your brain can do inconceivable things in our physical world. The only thing we can relate with our spiritual world is dreaming. Dreams seem to take us on a wild ride, trying to relate our consciousness experiences from the day or week before, and sometimes, even recurring dreams from a year ago.

But one thing is clear to us all —

Without our brain, the body ceases to function. To most of us that means certain death. However, death isn’t final. It may be to our physical body, but there’s still the question, “ Do we have a soul ?”

Our Soul and Beyond

Beyond our physical world, human beings have used religion, to explain the spiritual world. Ironically, it’s our physical brain trying to process what we see and hear. To me, there’s more to the spiritual world then using religious undertones. For example, Japanese people don’t separate the dead from the living. To the Japanese, it’s a transition into another spiritual dimension.  As said by a monk, “…death is like shoji on a sliding door “. ( a Shoji is a thin piece of paper on the door).  In other words, the once living transitions to the other side.

Religious followers call it our soul, but I to refer it to the entity of who we are, as a person.  You most likely heard this before, “I think therefore I am.” Father of Modern Philosopher Rene Descartes (during the 17th century) is responsible for this quote.  Our consciousness can also be related to our soul. The soul can be used in context to an “energy source” leaving our bodies when we die in this physical world.

In the religious world, it’s believe we have either good or evil souls. As a matter of fact, each religion warns us we better listen to God or you’ll surely be punished. To me, religion is just another form of control.

Without relating to the religious theories , my mind believes we make a conscious decision to be good or bad. It’s our choice in this physical world we live in.

With that said, let me tell you the true events, preceiving the notion, there’s Life after Life —

Life After Life

In the 1970’s I was in my late teens, living in Vernon, British Columbia.  A time where you’re still trying to find yourself. During this adolescence period, my girlfriend, Patricia (now wife) and I had a trio of friends. There’s Scott and his girlfriend, Lori, along with Alfred, nickname Alf.  Alf and Scott became inseparable friends, having similar interests. They both enjoyed tinkering with early model sports cars and had deep conversations dealing with math and science. Of course they loved Star Trek.

All of us would hang out together, be it a campfire bush party, the local clubs or spending at one another’s place. Our last time together as a group, was the last summer before heading to College. If I remember correctly, Scott was going to become an engineer. Alf was thinking about going to UBC, while I started to prepare for my second year at Okanagan College, taking the Fine Arts Program.

For me, this summer was a time of turmoil, as I fought a different path my father wanted me on. To make a long story short, he kicked me out of his house, ending up staying with Patricia’s family until the end of the summer.

One day Alf came over to see Us. He asked me if I would be interested in seeing a fortuneteller with him.  Alf was sort of crazy like that.  Out-of-the-blue ideas just came to his head, and without hesitation, he acted on them. Didn’t really see any harm in it, so I thought it would be fun to see what kind of future was in store for me.

We drove over to the BX area of Vernon, where Alf instructed me to pull into this trailer park. Looking at this rundown trailer, I question his sanity, saying,” You sure you want to do this?”

Alf laughed it off, he waved me on, saying,” Come on! Are you scared ?”

Of course I said no, but had my doubts about this fortune-telling venture. Paying out $40 for the two of us, was a big deal to me back then. Siding with scepticism, we walked up the rotting stairs of the trailer. Knocking on the screen door, we were met with this older man who seem to haven’t shaved in days. He introduced us to his wife with curlers in her hair, puffing on the short end of a cigarette butt. Now I was siding with caution, thinking these two were going to murder us. Without hesitation, the old man took me to one room, while Elf went to another (with his wife) to have our fortunes told.

The old man motioned me to sit down at this small table with two rickety old chairs, Immediately, my fortune teller pulled out a deck of Tarot Cards to begin reading my fortune. Laying out the cards one at a time, he carefully studied each one. After a few minutes of uncomfortable silence, he spoke in a calm voice, telling me my future is all over the place. Apparently my life will encounter 3 or 4 different careers. My last career would become so successful I would end up with a lot of money. Inside my head I screamed, “ What a bunch of crap ! You want me to believe what everyone wishes for ? Sure, sure, a lot of money…eh ?” I just smirked and left.

Heading back to my car, I impatiently waited for Elf to show up. Eventually, Elf came running out of the trailer with an expression of fear. He yelled at me, slamming the car door, “ Go ! Go! Go! “

As fast as lightening, my little Austin Mini smoked out of that trailer park, like we were being chased by Zombies. Zipping down the curved road, it wasn’t hard to notice, Elf was about to have a cardiac arrest. Without a word, I slammed on the breaks, swerving to the side of the road.

Elf gets out, agitated has hell, pacing back and forth like a madman. You could see the deep fear in his eyes.

Deeply concerned,I said,” What the hell Elf ?! What the @$#+@ wrong ? What happened in there ?!”

Still pacing back and forth, he stopped. Grabbing my shoulders, totally freaking out, he said,” Bari. Oh my god Bari… You’re NOT going to believe what she said to me!

He then screamed at the top of his lungs, “ @&$#@ !”

“Elf ! What the hell ! Get a hold of yourself. It can’t be that bad…can it? “ I said.

He grabbed me again, “ Oh god Bari…it’s bad…it’s really bad!”

“What the hell did she tell you ?”

Eye to eye, Elf proceeded to tell me, his fortune didn’t have a future, what-so-ever ! In fact, he wouldn’t even see the end of this summer.

I said,” You mean to tell me she told you, you were going to die ?”

Alf shook his head.

Shaking my head in disbelief, I assured him, his fortune was a bunch of crock, just like mine was. We were simply taken by a couple of con-artist, is all.

It was hard to see Elf like this. He was indeed distraught. Reassuring him, I made it clear, he had a long long life ahead of him. He most likely will end up as a professor at some university, one day. Told him to think about it for a minute. I mean really. Me ? Ending up rich ?

Give me a break, that will never happen!

He stopped and looked intently at me. After a few minutes of silence, he took a deep breath and smiled, shaking his head in agreement, “ You’re right !” He started to was laugh with a nervous hysterical tone.

The summer was coming to an end. Elf fell in love with a girl ( an exchange student from Venezuela). Have no idea how he met her. Just one day he introduced me to her. He also spent hours working on that foreign sports car with Scott. Believe it was a Triumph Spitfire.

It wouldn’t be long now, our small group would be going their different ways. In lieu of this, we decided to have a small party at Scott and Elf’s rental house by the Rec centre. Patricia and I showed up late that evening, eight..ish or so ? Noticed Elf was in his room with his girlfriend at his side.

Once again, he seemed completely distraught. Knocking on his open door, I asked if everything was ok ? He was rude and told me to go away.  Flabbergasted, I wasn’t going away without an explanation.  It wasn’t like Elf to distant himself from me. His actions weren’t logical. If there was one thing I knew about Elf, he was certain to use logical in everything he did.

His girlfriend was trying to comfort him, telling me to just leave.

Standing my ground, waiting for an answer, Elf finally said,” Haven’t slept very well this past week. Last night and before that, I saw a little girl come up to my bedside. She told me not to worry, everything will be alright. Then she would just disappeared…”  He paused in grief and raising his voice, continued,” The nights before that I saw hand prints on the wall. Do you see what I’m telling you ? Do you ! “

“Yes,”I said,” I believe I do.

I’ve heard of supernatural stories before but never really believed in them. Maybe because it was from people who weren’t rational or trustworthy. But Elf, that was another thing all together. He reminded me as Mr. Spock on Star Trek. That’s how logical he was.

My only response to his supernatural visions ; it was just a bad dream. As soon as I mentioned it, his actions turned hostile, as if he was trying to blame me for his illogical patterns. Shrugging my shoulders, not sure what to say or do, I left, hurt from his response.

Few days latter, he came over to Patricia’s place to talk to her not realizing I was there. He was pleading for her not to go out with me at all. Completely dumbfounded I was going to go outside to tell him off, but Patricia stopped me.

After that, I didn’t want to see Elf again.

A week later, we heard that Scott and Elf were in a car accident, driving their Spitfire too fast around a corner. The convertible flipped over into the field, throwing the two aimlessly into chaos. Scott wasn’t harmed, but Elf unfortunately hit the only bolder in that field killing him instantly.

We were all stunned by what happened ; me especially.

For crying-out-loud, that fortuneteller was correct. Alf didn’t have a future after all. During the funeral I talked to Alf’s parents. Didn’t have the heart to tell them what I knew. They were from a strong Catholic background, so I thought it wouldn’t be appropriate during their time of grief. I gave my condolences and left.

Never did understand the resentment Alf had towards me at the end of his life. As for me, I’m still poor. My fortune wasn’t completely correct, however I have had three different careers in my lifetime. Still buying lottery tickets to see if the last part of the fortune will pan out. Won’t be holding my breathe.

Alf’s supernatural visions did make me think if there truly is  life after death. My wife and I have been married for 42 years now, so I’m still not sure why Alf was so content in the beginning, trying to cause havoc in our relationship.

This incident proves to me there must be something after we leave our physical bodies here on earth. It’s my understanding, for those who experienced death and came back, noticed time and space travels quickly, to and from one space to another. Some souls are lost due to their tragic deaths, while others find peace, reaching for the light, to begin their journey into the unknown cosmos, where time and space are not defined. It’s also believed, some souls are reincarnated back on earth, to begin a new life. It could be all of our souls take on different journeys that suit us. Maybe that’s why some of us never see our lost loved ones again.

We know now there’s more then one universe, there are multi-universes. Time and Space are not finite. So it’s plausible to say, our souls will choose it’s own journey. That’s the reason we don’t see all the souls after their physical death. We only hear of the ones who are lost and need to find their way. I believe there’s Life and Life. Death is NOT the final word. It’s imperative I believe in this, because when death is looming at my bedside, I will see my daughter Jenni again.

Revenge of the Gods – COVID-19

Revenge of the Gods - COVID-19

We have all hit a new age of uncertainty due to this COVID-19 epidemic. It brings to light how everyday acts of courage and humanity can bring us together across our world.

However, as a science-fiction writer I can’t dismiss the ‘Alien Conspiracy’ connection to all that’s happening now. So, of course, I decided to write about it in a third person prospective.

It all began with Commander Cardin :

Drug-addicted war hero Commander Cardin was a middle-aged experienced member of the ROYAL EMPIRE GUARDS under King Osiris reign. King Osiris favoured his nephew, so Commander Cardin could do no harm. His uncle decide it was best, Cardin would be placed in charge of the new mission on planet ALPHA XL-420 : EARTH. Their mission was to integrate the Ape-Man Species by crossing their genetics with the Sirian Species.

This was over 150,000 years ago.

Since then, a new ruler reigns our modern world of today. Queen Siri XII is now the acting ‘Living God’ in charge, with a life span of 1100 years. Her mission today has taken on a more sinister approach to King Osiris originally plan. It seems Queen Siri XII has become bored of these inbred human race, as they keep screwing up century after century, after century. In fact, she’s finding them to be an annoying self-centred species. I mean, how many times must this race be rebooted to start the experiment all over again. The last recorded event in the human religious books, was the ‘Great Flood’. Since then, their actions have become unforgiving, as they freely destroy earth.

On November 2019, Queen Siri gave the order : Spread the black virus ‘COVID 19’ upon the poor foolish human race and let the chips fall where they may.

Indeed, it was a prefect plan, since the human race were now aware of their presence. During a routine training flight of Navy fighter pilots in 2004 and 2015, their sensors captured one of the Sirian flight ships scouting the area. The scout ship forgot to cloak his ship, making it easy pickings for the human Navy fighter pilots.

Queen Siri was outraged by this unforgiving action of one of her crew. Therefore, to make an example to others, she had this crew member executed. It was thought the human race would deny any trace of this video, but unfortunately in 2017, the New York Times published it.

The Sirian race was divided with Queen Siri’s orders to conquer the human race, so she could ravage planet Earth for its valuable resources. Even though the queen was acting ruler of earth, she was still accountable to the ‘Imperial Senate of the Sirus Consul’, the highest elected political office for the Sirian Imperial State. Due to their mixed feelings and constant conflicts with Queen Siri XII, they decided to execute a secret letter by one of the consul’s leading team members. The letter intent was to warn the human species, before it was too late. It was their last cry for helping out the human race.

This is what it said :

Oh to Sacred Earth I say,” A black evil is spreading rapidly across your lands, like the wildfires of hell itself, touching every face of man, no matter age, race, gender or origin of your souls. Its feverous plague will jump from sea to sea in leaps and bounds ; knowingly there’s no cure. Without any recourse, your living souls are seized, as your bodies last breathe endures mortal anguish of despair… O to the horrors upon you all.”

Like the gods before us, they said,” Did you not hear us ? Did we not scream in despair ? Did we not warn the wise men before you ? All had the knowledge of the events before thee, did they not ?

Why have you not listen to the voices of reason ? You can’t be left in ignorance of this : there has come a time of urgency where we can’t stand complacent, as if you didn’t know.

Did we not speak of Earth as an image of heaven ? The heavens above is not of one god but many living gods before you. Just like the heavens are not one heaven but many heavens before us all. WE are many before you. WE will be many after you.

The lands before you will be swallowed up, as the gods return from earth to the heavens above ; Mankind will be forsaken on earth, infected with the plague of all plagues before it. Ravaged with sickness, as lesser men of evil will fill the earth with the blood of man, woman and child. These men of weakness are disparately seeking a piteous plight of greed to save their own skin, unaware they too have a soul. Torrents of blood will cover the seas red, as the banks are filled with corpses of men, women and children. The dead will far outnumber the living ; and the survivors will wish they were dead.

To thee, I cry with deep sorrow.

These coming days, weeks, months and yes, even years, may not have to come to be. I plead for your understanding, for this shall not have to be.

All of mankind must come together as one.

WE must fight the darkness of greed and death, where death is thought to be more profitable than life itself. WE must take a stand against those who profit from greed ; those who profit from the poor ; those who profit from the sick. No longer will the wicked be esteemed as good. No longer will madmen ravage the innocent, without dreaded consequences and conviction, wishing they were dead.

In the eye of the many universes without limited time or shape, the evil souls will no longer rest within the dreaded eternity of bloody torment you call hell. Hell is not a place but more like an endless cycle of unrest. Their souls will never see the light of day or attain immortality of being born again.

Yes. There’s the living and the dead ; the never ending cycle lives within us all. In the law of nanotechnology and physics, there is no beginning and there is no end. Our souls are intertwined, reshaped and reborn throughout eternity, as long as we follow the good within our soul.

You may refer your soul as having a good heart. So be a good heart and soul. Be a good person from within, seeking only happiness of others instead of yourself. Take heed and caution to the wicked souls, as they are there to trick you. Help those who help themselves first. Never be swayed by tricksters. Stay vigilant and strong.

You hear us now. WE are the gods of many gods before us, as there will be many gods after us. This virus you see and hear is a warning and test of things to come. If you can’t see the tree before the forest, your species will be lost amongst the rest of those who failed before you. Question everything and everyone.

No one is safe from greed or this living virus.

Seek an end to the virus as there’s a closer avenue to it’s beginning. As you say,” Follow the paper trail. Seek and you will find the truth from within the structure of greed. Use your wisest men and women to search for the right answer. Flush out the wicked like a wildfire across your lands. Bring back the world to a better place before it’s too late. The purpose of good will always out weight the evil, only because evil can’t get enough of greed.

The gods are ready to leave if this world keeps falling behind. The living Queen of all queens have betrayed you all. It’s only a matter of time. WE will no longer protect the earth from the falling stars. WE will no longer protect you from this evil Queen of the Living Gods. The wrath of mankind will come to an end if you don’t act now. The Cosmos balance of life and death must stay constant; it is the way of life and death, in harmony with each other. It will continue with you or without you. It’s your choice.

WE are the gods of many…

In Memory of Jenni Michelle Demers

Jenni Michelle Demers

Today is in memory of our daughter Jenni Michelle Demers. On this day ( Nov 5 1980 ) in the late evening, our little Jenni died of severe complications from an unknown disease called Kawasaki disease, also known as mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome.

In some cases( like our daughter) the disease will attack their heart, known as coronary artery aneurysms . Strangely enough, it’s said that this will only happen to children in their first or second year. However, that wasn’t the case for Jenni. She was only 8 months old when this disease attack her heart.

To this day, the disease is still not fully understood and cause is widely unknown. In the 1980’s there wasn’t any treatment as there is today. To make this disease even more devastating for our daughter, only 1% of children die.

The disorder was first described in 1967 by Tomisaku Kawasaki in Japan.

My Art-of-the-Day is symbolizes what our daughter, Jenni Michelle Demers could look like today at 39 years old. I would like to think of Jenni as a DragonQueen by @emilia_clarke .

Maybe Emilia Clarke will read this and pass along, in memory of Jenni our little soul .

The Truth About Climate Change

Let’s get to the true facts about climate change and how a liberal political agenda is using it as a base to brainwash our children through the teachers union, and mislead Canadians behind their real motives.

First and foremost, no matter who’s in political power, it’s important to show the people (who you represent) there’s growth in our economy. Growth means jobs, exporting to importing services and/or products ,and joining a strong respectable relationship with foreign leaders. In Canada 🇨🇦 it’s vital each province agrees with the federal government, in order to get anything done. Think of it as a mathematical equation. If one of these equations don’t add up, it just won’t work. You then know there’s a hidden agenda, programmed to raise the economy by false pretences.

Before I go into the false pretences, let’s go over “The Truth About Climate Change”. As a writer, it’s important to seek out the facts with a nonpartisanism view. My goal is to research the science before anything else, tapping into the hard work of respected research scientists across our planet. In my research, I have found a geophysicist showcasing the facts about climate change, without any political agenda attached.

Here are the facts :

“ As a geophysicist let me clear some things up for many here.

Climate change is real. Yes, those who say the climate has been warmer in the past are totally correct. During the Carboniferous hothouse period and the Palaeocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum the temperature’s were far far hotter than they are today (and many other times in Earth’s history also).

So the notion that this is the warmest the Earth has been is totally incorrect.

However, the rate at which we are warming is alarmingly – so quick that this rate of change is extremely rare within the geologic record of the last two hundred years. Evolutionary adaptions occur over sub-geologic time ; hence change at such rate will undoubtedly cause extinctions.

[ aka : Earth causes human extinction and then reboots for three million years, developing a new evolutionary species.]

However, are we on the brink of disaster?

Is it scientifically accurate to say that there is no return if we don’t “fix” the climate now?

Absolutely NOT !

In fact we can easily reverse this provided we combine a number of geoengineering techniques.

It is a matter of fact that we will and have to continue to burn and utilize fossil fuels. Plastics, rubbers, chemical catalysts, feedstocks, etc and, not to mention infrastructures, cars, planes, all rely on fossil fuels.

Society would simply collapse without them ! That’s a fact!

Not only that but they provide the only affordable and large-scale energy source. The key is NOT to concentrate on reducing the necessity that is fossil fuels but instead to engineer our way around the issue.

Carbon Capture Storage is an excellent mechanism.

In fact it’s only disadvantage (according to the media) is it may leak back to the surface. This is virtually impossible by the laws of geology and physics!

When CO2 is injected into the subsurface it is done so as a supercritical fluid.

CO2 possesses a lower affinity for the solid silica surfaces of the microscopic interstices between rock grains.

This means that CO2 is non-wetting to that silica surface. It occupies the largest regions of the pore space.

This means when we inject water after CO2 the water can flow along the surface and the narrow regions of the pore space and trap the CO2 behind.

The analogy for this is as follows: Imagine flooding a room with only two exits with CO2. If the two exit doors are flooded outside by water then the CO2 physically becomes immobile. This means the CO2 is trapped and locked away for geologic time. By doing so we can extract more than enough CO2 from the atmosphere and reverse increase in temperatures and the coinciding side-effects.

Not only this but so many other excellent geoengineering ideas have been shown to work. Look at space mirrors, artificial trees and white surface conversions. There are some excellent papers on google scholar, just search for geoengineering.

The future is to continue extracting fossil fuels and an ever increasing rate so that everyone across the world can enjoy the quality of life that we do, but to simultaneously capture the emissions that result.

The truth is we need the news to start interviewing world experts on climate science, geophysics, geochemistry, petroleum science etc from the world’s top institutions in these fields: Stanford, Oxford, Imperial, MIT.

Not school kids who have been taught scientific inaccuracies!

So to summarize:

1. Is the climate changing? Yes. You are an idiot if you dispute this – the geochemistry clearly supports this.

2. Are we in risk of disaster? Are we all going to die? Do we need to stop burning fossil fuels like we do today? Absolutely not!

3. We need to employ geoengineering techniques in combination to reverse the modifications in climatic chemistry that we have seen over the last 250 years. This will require governments to employ the relevant policy, although many oil companies have started to utilize these techniques (look at the success of Equinor).

4. We need to begin to explore space, as we will soon be well beyond Earth’s carrying capacity which inherently makes climate change inevitable – our future home is among the stars.

Today’s Lesson : Don’t listen to the news, it’s designed to fit a certain agenda. Instead research the science; google scholar is a god send. Make sure you’re reading articles from established institutions with well respected research scientists.” – Bertie James (geophysicist)

It’s vital as human beings to use our brains instead of being distracted by our feelings, in order to understand the underlying truth. Never rely on any politician, as 99% are as bad as used-car-salesmen. They will hide the facts while boosting how their collective party will improve Canadians well-being. [ This is true for any world government] If it sounds too good to be true, it’s NOT the real truth. Unfortunately, this is what the liberal government of Canada is doing right now.

The question is : How do you hide the truth while making yourself sound like a new wave for the future ?

You take a collective problem (aka Climate Change) and begin using this agenda by directing educators and liberal scientists to promote propaganda. Each one has its own agenda ; be it funding or filling their pockets full of money, due to greed. Their goal is persuade you there’s a crisis at hand and if we don’t react, we’ll all die. They lead with some truth while hiding underlining facts.

For example they hide this fact : “During the Carboniferous hothouse period and the Palaeocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum the temperature’s were far far hotter than they are today.” In fact, if you go back millions of years, Earth has had this same cycle since it’s creation.

AND – I hate this idiot response,” How do you know ? Were you there?!”

Put trust in our scientists through countless years of research and study. Like one of Judge Judy’s quotes,” This is my courtroom and I can say what I want. When you become a judge, then we’ll talk.“ So, when you become a distinguished scientist, then we’ll talk.

Is it true mankind has contributed to climate change? Of course they have. But let’s stop blaming everyone without realizing where the problem is coming from. I’m sure you’ve heard media say,” Canada is the problem, as it’s arctic is getting warmer. CBC is a good example of that. They are a liberal collective media machine owned by government funding. So it’s in their best interest to sway Canadians into the overall collective: The Liberal Party.

Here’s an example of CBC media, who received their data from a partisan Dianne Saxe, the former environment commissioner for Ontario who now runs the green consultancy :

“Canada’s refrigerator, the Arctic, is warming fast. The Earth’s climate warms faster near the poles. Why is still being studied, but the reasons include feedback cycles that are internal to the climate system, such as the positive feedbacks that occur when snow and ice melt to reveal darker, warmer surfaces below, and when more energy in the air and water currents are transported to the high latitudes. Also, land warms faster than oceans, and Canada has a huge land area that is away from the oceans.

We often read that Canada has some of the highest per capita carbon emissions in the world. Why is that? “

A collective question to promote their agenda. So what’s their agenda? Shame and program Canadians into thinking we’re the cause for everything wrong by promoting radical extremism, like those who do not believe in eating meat. Those who believe they can say and do anything without any consequences. They’re the thorn in your side. Radical extremists have a chip-on-their-shoulder ready to exploit their views onto everyone, no matter if they like it or not !

It’s like a religious cult trying their best to force you into their beliefs. In one word – Control.

A good example of this is communism. Their goal is to control the mass population by what ever means necessary. They want to program you like a flock of sheep. Our children are easily persuaded through propaganda at school. What better way to bring up their future followers and voters ?

Let’s continue what CBC spokeswoman says in their next paragraph:

“ Reasons include Canada produces very large emissions from its industries, especially oil, gas and petrochemicals. Canadians drive the least efficient vehicles in the world, use a lot of heat during cold winters, fly often and far, eat a lot of beef and use up and throw away immense amounts of stuff of all kinds. Some provinces still burn a lot of coal.”

Here, CBC is shaming Canadians into believing we’re “users” of our resources, which is not completely true. Our vehicles for one, are efficient enough due to our population and CO2 emissions.

China, United States, Russia, European Union, Japan, Germany, North and South Korea, and Brazil (including International Shipping across the globe) all have higher emissions then Canada 🇨🇦. As well, it’s clear humans and animals breathe, emits more CO2 then our processing cattle for food. We inhale air, resulting in 385 parts per million carbon dioxide. As you exhale, you release ten times as much. However, plants soak up our carbon, making it accountable to our living status. This is why it’s so important to look after our plants. It was once joked our plants are harvesting us to keep earth green.

Maybe this is closer to the truth then we know. Trust me, if the earth thought we were a deterrent to the eco-system, human beings and animals would have been eliminated long time ago.

Regardless of that fact, our growing population is the real problem.

Humans are like this disease growing out-of-control.

This is why it’s important “we need to begin to explore space as we will soon be well beyond Earth’s carrying capacity which inherently makes climate change inevitable – our future home is among the stars. “ Bertie James (geophysicist)

Now CBC spokeswoman also blames us for “produces very large emissions from its industries, especially oil, gas and petrochemicals.”

Have you seen the production in Texas lately?

Texas is the leading U.S. producer of both crude oil and natural gas. Then there’s Russia. A whole city is completely polluted by CO2 emissions, petrochemicals waste along with Germany’s massive strip-mining.

It makes Alberta Oil Sands look like a toddler, in comparison. [ Read more by CBC – read behind the lines]

It’s a political ploy to throw the blame onto someone else, in order to gain an economic advantage in their country. United States is laughing all the way to the bank. You think those celebrities weren’t paid to come up to Alberta Oil Sands ? Of course they were ! Don’t forget they fly up in their private high-octane fuelled jets and then use a helicopter to view the area. Each protester, including our very own David Suzuki, leave a significant carbon trail, while collecting a grand sum of cash.

If only we could keep the politics out of science and begin to rely on “The Truth about Climate Change.”

The bottom line is to control our population, adapt to viable resources like using our Sun’s solar energy and power, without being taxed by greedy corporations, who are thirsty for POWER. Plus, we must be vigilant towards the underlying reason our political government has implemented Carbon Tax.

But also remember:

“It is a matter of fact that we will and have to continue to burn and utilize fossil fuels. Plastics, rubbers, chemical catalysts, feedstocks, etc and, not to mention infrastructures, cars, planes, all rely on fossil fuels.

Society would simply collapse without them ! That’s a fact! “

The reason the liberal government is using “Climate Change” as their political machine is to generate money to make it seem like the economy is growing. We already know, by the Bank of Canada, this is certainly NOT the case! In fact, they’re extremely nervous in our overall growth. Legalize marijuana was hoped to produce a surplus of funds too. The liberal government forgot about the long slow process of any government, as its wheels take a long time to get rolling. They also did the unforgivable no no ; they’re priced higher then your local drug dealer – OH OH!

When Justin Trudeau first came into power, I was optimistic in the new leadership. He’s young and the millenniums love him. Oh dear GOD you can do no harm. We believe in you. Praise the Lord.

Oh brother! We aren’t a flock of sheep!

In the beginning I too drank the purple Kool-aid. However, while under deeper scrutiny, I quickly became fearful of his cult following, from changing our Constitutional Rights to taxing us to death 💀. Let’s not forget about rubbing shoulders with SNC-Lavalin, trying to pressure Jody Wilson-Raybould from proceeding a criminal prosecution. Removing any opposition is a clear sign of “controlling the public”.

Let’s be real here.

Political parties are looking after their own hidden agenda. It’s up to us “The People of Canada” to make damn sure their honest and looking towards the interest of ALL Canadians. We can’t be swayed by emotion or follow our leader, like a flock of sheep.

I do hope you haven’t taken part in drinking the purple Kool-aid. Please, please, please…compare real facts with truth and not an underlying political agenda.

Keep every politician accountable for their actions, otherwise “The People of Canada” will no longer have control in our own destiny or our children’s welfare.

As Judge Judy said,”Don’t look up at the heavens. God is not going to help you with this case. Only the truth will set you free.”

Writers Life

Writers Life

Writers Life – it’s not glorious and the most part not rewarding to everyone. However, it’s part of me. Writing and art drives my inner soul – it’s me.

The above photo says it all :

10 THINGS People Say to Creative Writers ( But shouldn’t)

1. So you’re still writing your little book/poem/etc.?

2. Must be nice not having a real job.

3. Writing doesn’t sound too difficult.

4. I always thought I’d write a book after I retire, once I have some time to kill.

5. Wait a second, creative writing degrees are a real thing ?

6. Have you been published yet ?

7. Can I be a character in one of your stories?

8. So I have this great idea I think you should be using in your book…

9. Aren’t writers just professional liars ? They tell stories for a living, after all.

10. You’re writing a book ? Tell me everything.

Here’s more :

11. So what do you do in real life ?

12. How many books have you published so far ?

13. How come you’re not famous, like Stephen King ?

14. Oh, com’n ! Everyone knows how to write a story.

I believe all writers can relate. I’ve heard it all. A writers life has little support unless it becomes a blockbuster movie or a Best Seller. When I first decided to publish a book, I was pretty naive of the whole process. On top of that I wanted to write a cookbook.

What was I thinking?!

Getting sucked into self-publishing by dishing out $5000 to a self-publisher, I was still optimistic. Had these grandeur thoughts of becoming a Best Seller, selling millions of copies across Canada and United States.

The reality is more prevalent ; “Canadian Recipes of the Great White North” sold just enough to get my money back. On a positive note, it reached the UK, Australia, Germany and Japan. In Canada it sold locally and I also received requests from United States.

I found out quickly, self-publishing is thrown into the mix of hundreds of millions of other cookbooks. Not only is it expensive, your book selling on-line or a conventional bookstore takes a whopping 40 – 45 percent of your earnings. On top of that ( this may happen to you) the publishing company is constantly up for sell to larger publishers. On an average, self-publishers either sell or go bankrupt, due to competition. To add insult to injury, if the publisher is sold ( which happened to me) to an American publisher, the USA will make you pay taxes on any book you sell. Sure – you can get it back, however the process is daunting. You must fill out a five page report w/ all your personal information and then send it to a box office number. No way ! A Box Office Number ? That just doesn’t seem legit to me.

SO – You see, it’s not worth the hassle. I’m sure they do that on purpose. If it was a lot of money I would go to a lawyer, that way you’re protecting yourself.

The above “10 Things People say to Creative Writers” is so true, it’s scary – lol.

When I say cookbook, they go…”Oh…it’s just another cookbook. You’re NOT a writer.”

Meanwhile I write tons of science-fiction to reality short-stories that could possibly be made into a book. But now I’m pessimistic to the whole publishing routine. It’s clear, the only way to get your manuscript out is to send it in for submission. Submissions sound promising doesn’t it ? Sorry, it’s not that simple. First and foremost you have to find a publisher willing to take your manuscript. Second, it most probably lay on a pile of emails or deleted, due to the first couple of sentences they may read. The reality is, you may never get your manuscript to publishing.

What I’ve learned :

  • Write because you want to tell your story. Never write thinking you’re the next J.K.Rowling.
  • Write for yourself, maybe others will appreciate your work.
  • I write not to impress others.
  • I write because it’s my inner soul, it’s what I feel inside. It’s part of who I am.
  • Writing is a burning passion others may not understand. Only writers understand.
  • Try NOT to become disillusioned or depressed. Just realize the ‘Arts’ is extremely competitive and the most part unrewarding.
  • Only write if it comforts you. YOU find it personally rewarding.
  • Don’t expect to become the next best seller. There’s a ton of politics involved in that scenario.
  • Write from your heart. Never mind what others may think. It’s your story. Tell it as it is.
  • Read and read more…

I believe I’ve covered everything. You may want to add on to this list. I would love to hear your story.

Have you read my short-stories or screenplays ?

My Stories

My Art

Anyway – I thought this post of “10 Things People say to Creative Writers” is a prefect example.

Do you know, if Stephen King didn’t get notice for his book “The Shining” by a movie producer, he wouldn’t have become as famous as he is. However, his horror genre was a big hit to cult followers.

Getting your written work or art recognized is like winning a lottery, or its politically driven by artsy-class people and publishers. IF by chance your book is recognized by a movie producer or director, then it’s easy-street for you.

My Thursday Thoughts…

Poverty Outcome

Always keeping tabs of how our Canadian government is looking out for Canadians who have the misfortune of being born into poverty, along with senior citizens.

In the ‘50’s poverty and substance abuse wasn’t necessarily looked after. However (back then) I remember the Catholic Church helping us out. Still remember the Nuns feeding us and teaching me how to read. One Nun in particular, I still remember her name to this very day, Sister Vincent Mary. If it wasn’t for her extra time and support, school would have of been much harder. She would bring me food each morning, so I could have some kind of breakfast, saying,” You can’t learn on an empty stomach dear.”

Sister Vincent Mary was like that mother you never had, nurturing me throughout Grade One and Two.

ON THAT – A QUICK NOTE :

To be clear, I’m NOT religious, but do recognize how the community churches can help those struggling. Most recently, I’ve noticed how some will abuse the system. Totally against that too.

I understand how you may be surprised to learn I’m not religious, considering how the Catholic Church looked after us. After years of studying various religions, it was clear to me how man-made religion is destroying our society, to this very minute. To fight over whose GOD is better then the others, is unconscionable. Unfortunately, mankind is plagued by the misuse of religious beliefs. This is why I considered myself SPIRITUAL and NOT religious. I believe in a GOD, but not how you would think.

SENIOR POVERTY – HOLDING ON TO DIGNITY AND RESPECT

Anyway – Today, our government has become more active in helping those in poverty, which is good to hear.

Read this article

Going into Retirement, I’m still afraid of the “Wolf Knocking on our Door”. Poverty isn’t something you want to experience. It’s not only degrading to your human spirit but totally unhealthy to YOU as a person.

I’m hopeful and inspired the “Government of Canada has increased the GIS (Guaranteed Income Supplement) for the lowest-income seniors by up to $600 annually for single seniors and $840 for couples. This investment of $300 million each year improves the well-being of approximately 680 000 seniors across Canada. It is the highest percentage increase in over 25 years. Read more HERE.

Settling into retirement with a fixed income is pretty scary, where your set-income stays the same, while everything else keeps rising. Eventually food, transportation and housing becomes out-of-reach.

For example, if you totally relied on the retirement figures, this would be your income today as a senior couple :

RETIREMENT COUPLE INCOME: $1890 per month.

This is why RRSP’s are SO important to establish. As well, if your spouse dies, then your income is cut in half.

$1890 is barely enough income to pay mortgage or rent, food and expenses. Eventually, your car becomes a luxury,

Don’t think to rely on a company pension either.

My grandmother was a teacher. During the 1970’s an accountant misused their funds and she lost that side of her income. It’s NOT the fear the company may fold. No…it’s if someone responsible for all that money, fraudulently takes that money 💰 for themselves ; or its invested poorly.

The point is you must be prepared for some kind of nest egg in your senior years. IF NOT, it may lead to a precarious situation, finding yourself in complete poverty.

Thankfully, our Canadian system has programs to help out, as well as community support.

The only thing they haven’t done for seniors, is set up private homes for low-income. I’m NOT talking about rental system, I’m talking about your own “freehold” homes. Maybe a government outreach system can help seniors who already own a home and haven’t been able to pay off the mortgage.

Before, it was the norm for earners to pay off their mortgage before they retire. However, that equation has become increasingly out-of-reach, due to the scale of real estate.

Today, it’s a fact, each senior will most likely have a mortgage to attend to after retirement. I believe the banks should become more aware of that equation, because (believe it or not) a monthly mortgage is cheaper then rent. So, it only makes sense for banks to change their prospective.

The last thing you want to see, is a senior homeless, simply because their spouse died before them and/or they can’t afford their own home any more.

In today’s scenario, you can’t rely on staying with your children. Most likely, they are drowning in debt, due to our increase economy. Adding on an increase expense (their parents) wouldn’t end well.

POVERTY AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE

I know what poverty is and how substance abuse can effect ones life. My real mum (mom) was an alcoholic. She would do anything to have that next fix. Even though, my dad had a good trade, my mum would use any extra income on alcohol. Back then, my dad worked up North, sending money home to pay for groceries and the mortgage. Most of that money went into my mom’s addiction. I still can remember her stealing groceries from the supermarket and forging checks, to hide her addiction. There were times, we were in the police station, as my mum was arrested. Believe you me, the cops back then were unforgiving, treating us like dirt. Remember one time, this police captain saying to my uncle Ron (who ended being the one picking me up) , “ Will you get this goddam kid off my desk, can’t stand looking at him.”

I was only 6 years old.

Police have grown since then, with community outposts. However, some still have this “power of authority”, misusing it to their own personal advantage (bully if you will). However, I’ve met some respectful police officers who are only doing their job. Their job can be overwhelming, to say the least. They too have their demons.

Going back to my Mum ; even though her addiction consumed her life, she must of realized how important a home is, because the mortgage was always paid. However, homes back then cost nearly nothing. It only took one income not two.

The point is, poverty is more then you think. It’s NOT only a lack of funds, it’s addiction that can lead to poverty and even death.

Born within an alcoholic mum brought personal challenges to me and my sister. We’ve adapted throughout our whole life to compensate for it.

I’m not saying my mum was a bad person. Far from the truth. She unfortunately had an addiction (disease, if you will) that kept her struggling until her early death. When sober, she would pamper us the best way she knew how. In an alcoholic rage, I would sometimes be locked in a closet, for what seemed like hours. After coming to her senses, she would be crying, holding me,” I didn’t mean it baby. I didn’t mean it. Mommy’s not doing too well. Sorry baby, Mommy’s so sorry. I love you.”

We would hug like there’s no tomorrow.

The next day, Mum would be buy me a toy, to make up for her discretions. It was common for my sister and I to stay in the car for hours, while she was drinking in her favourite salon. Mum driving home drunk was the norm. I’m surprised to this day, we weren’t in an accident.

My dad has his own demons and would physically abuse my mum because of her alcoholism. Remembering a dysfunctional family back then, from them throwing plates at each other to unthinkable events, you would only think would happen in a horror movie. My sister and I would have our regular beatings. Many times I was thrown down a flight of stairs, landing on a concrete basement floor. Don’t know how long I lye there unconscious, but remember picking myself up, bruised and war torn. Point blank ; my father was extremely abusive to all of us and that’s one thing I have never forgiven.

Unless it’s happened to you, it’s very hard to understand.

POVERTY OUTCOME AND OUR FUTURE

Poverty is something our government needs to address with our increasingly economy. I can’t imagine going back into poverty, just because of retirement. As a matter of fact, I won’t. One way or another, I’ll keep my dignity.

Poverty and substance abuse must be addressed in our near future, otherwise the world won’t be able to control the outcome.

Something to think about for whatever government gets into power.

Yes. Our Canadian government. The system needs to change into the betterment for human beings. Any government in control of CANADA 🇨🇦 must start to realize, they ARE ACCOUNTABLE to each Canadian citizen. We are NOT pawns to be played with in your political conquest. WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS. The responsibility of a political leader to its Canadian citizens is extremely important.

You know, if Jody Wilson-Raybould decided to run for Prime Minister, I would truly vote for her. To me, she’s someone that stands up for Canadians, adding accountability to our Canadian government. I’m not really one hundred percent liberal or conservative. Maybe we need a new government more accountable for their actions. WE could call it : THE CANADIAN COLLECTIVE with a slogan “ We hold ourselves accountable to ALL Canadians, not just the rich.”

After-all, all we’re looking for, is NOT to worry about that wolf knocking on our door (aka Poverty). WE Canadians will do our part, working hard and paying our taxes. But please give the poor and our senior citizens the respect they deserve.

And YES – I believe Prime Minister Justin Trudeau should apologize to Jody Wilson-Raybould. It’s unconscionable for our Prime Minister to hide under his cover-up attempts. Thank you Jody for taking the “last stand” for ALL CANADIANS. I truly respect and appreciate you holding up the laws of the perspective FIRST NATIONS lands, we now hold dear to us.

Peace Out…
