Welcome to my Art Gallery promoting my screenplay BLACK ANGELS.  I’m a self taught Canadian graphic artist, but do have the traditional Fine Art diploma ’76 from Okanagan College in British Columbia, Canada. 

BLACK ANGELS is a science-fiction horror genre based on the arrival of our ancestors and how it changed mankind forever. 

I’ve always had an interest in anything related to SciFi and/or Horror, from Aliens to 2001: A Space Odyssey.   I could go on about my screenplay, but today I like to introduce you to science-fiction artwork and it’s my hope I will spark your interest to either follow me here on wordpress, Instagram or Twitter

My last piece is related to my storyline: 

IN this latest graphic art piece I produced, it’s a series of 17 separate steps to get the final result. This doesn’t include the shadows and colour arrangements. 

Look into the background- what do you see ? 

BACKGROUND: I placed the Pyramids within a crimson blue stormy night sky. You can see ancient Egypt’s King Tutankhamen, the Great Pharaoh is released into the sky from his Pyramid Tomb, continuing his journey to the afterworld.  

FOREGROUND / STORYLINE: The Priestesses BLACK ANGEL is the most powerful GOD of them all, unknown to King Tutankhamen, his precarious journey leads to the Darkside, otherwise known as the ‘DarkWorld’, trapped forever between the freedom of the LIGHT and DARKNESS.

All the work and art I produce relates back to my screenplay BLACK ANGELS. Today isn’t any different, as I’m fascinated with ‘The Ancient Egyptian Gods’ and the ‘Discovery of King Tut’ himself. 

The behind-the-scenes of BLACK ANGELS started way back in 1980’s, when I started questioning, “Where did we come from and why are we such a destructive race?” 

The clues were out there. I just had to find them. 

Originally, with an Italian/French background, my youth was brainwashed into the Catholic faith. But, after years of observing this religion, I wasn’t satisfied with its religious doctrines, as my thirst of knowledge was never answered truthfully.  

Therefore I went on a five year journey of discovery, studying religions, from Jehovah’s Witness, Mormons, The Salvation Army, to the Bahá’í Faith.  

Intrigued by the Bahá’í faith, I began studying its origin. 

Its religious beliefs were founded by Bahá’u’lláh in the 19th century Persia. It was in defiance to the radical Islamic doctrines and unfortunately Bahá’u’lláh himself was imprisoned and exiled. Like any contradictory religion of its time, the controlling powers-to-be considered the Bahá’í faith blasphemy and was severely dealt with.  It’s really not any different today with our continuing saga of complete turmoil within this hostel environment we all live in, just because of our differences in todays religions.

Their religious beliefs revolves around the theory that Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad were divine messengers, including Bahá’u’lláh himself. Most importantly, Bahá’u’lláh was surrounded by the idea of having a peaceful existence for all of humanity, even though to this very day, we still haven’t achieved it. Unfortunately peace into today’s society is such a taboo thought, due to worldly radical (religious) doctrines, exploiting control over their insane beliefs. 

After careful consideration of each religion, they all failed miserably, one by one. All are led to CONTROL and subject to some sort of financial gain. In the end, it was painfully clear to me, all manmade religions are clouded by one form of greed or another. 

It was inevitable. 

THE SEARCH AND OUR ANCESTORS 

After my religious undertaking, I eventually decided to do more research about the Syrians, Persians, Egyptians and Roman historical accounts. The discovery of the Sirian, Persian and Egyptian Gods led me to a more profound answer to our very existence. From there (in about 1995), I started writing a series of screenplay drafts devoted to the theory, mankind was visited by ancient visitors, only referred to as the ‘GODS OF THE HEAVENS’. Even though my screenplay is a science-fiction horror genre called BLACK ANGELS, it’s based on historical accounts of scriptures, including hieroglyphic scripts and biblical prophesy, where’s it’s the understanding mankind was genetically altered prematurely from our relatives, the Denisovans or Denisova hominins, changing us into a smarter race of human beings. 

However, as this is referred to as the smoking-gun to the “missing link”, it’s without deadly consequences. 

Today, humans may be intelligent, but consider the normal evolutionary timeline, we have quickly become a dangerous species, suited more for war then peace, fighting our inner demons along the way. Discouraged by the fate of mankind, I eagerly plowed through the historical timeline of the Egyptian Dynasty, knowingly all to well, they were only representatives, trying their best to duplicate the existence of the GODS, themselves. A good example of this is when I recently discovered my own treasure of historical artifacts through tedious research of the Egyptian Pharaoh, King Tut. With this information I discovered an array of valuable historical artifacts with an amazing story behind the secret Egyptian King, the illusive boy with the golden mask.

DISCOVERY OF KING TUT BY HOWARD CARTER AND ITS EXHIBITION 

The Discovery of King Tut Exhibition came to North American from 1976 – 1979, showcasing Tutankhamun’s tomb in the Valley of the Kings between the tombs of Rameses II and Rameses IV. 

The fascinating historical accounts go like this:  

Incredibly, local robbers entered the tomb twice, but each time failed to find any treasures. However, in 1922, archaeologist Howard Carter found four secret chambers completely intact. For years before the discovery, Carter’s patron, Lord Carnarvon painstakingly inspected every inch in the Valley of the Kings, telling his colleague the Tutankhamun’s tomb had nothing of interest. 
But on November 22, 1922 Carter discovered one chamber, and within this chamber hide two more chambers. Inspecting the last chamber, he noticed a tight corridor leading to yet another chamber. 

As stated by the Canadian Museum of History, “This chamber was heavily guarded by two black sentry-statues, representing the royal ka (soul) and symbolize the hope of rebirth — the qualities of Osiris, who was reborn after he died.” 

Carter’s persistence had finally paid off, finding the fourth and last chamber, exposing the secret burial chamber and unfolding the legendary tomb of King Tutankhamun (the boy behind the golden mask). Within these walls, the room exposed priceless golden treasures, known as the greatest archeological findings of the 20th century. 

For my own personal interest, It would have been remarkable to be able to see these historical treasures in person, but unfortunately, King Tut treasures weren’t available during the 1986 World Exposition in Vancouver, BC, that my wife and I attended. However, what we did see was still pretty cool, featuring “The Great Pharaoh Ramses and His Time during EXPO 86.” 

Even though these impressive artifacts captivated my interest, it just isn’t the same as the real exhibition from 1976 – 1979, where it’s last visit was at the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, Ontario. During this time period I was busy raising a family and too broke to even think of visiting Egypt, where the artifacts remain to this very day.

Indeed, King Tutankhamun Eighteenth Dynasty is an amazing timeline in our history.  

IN CONCLUSION

To me, after years of studying various religions, reading and seeing historical artifacts, it became clear everyone, everywhere in history tried their best to imitate the GODS, but all fell short to duplicate our ancestral legacy. You can pretty much tell, their technology and architectural buildings weren’t up to snuff to the true GODS, they wanted so bad to replicate. 

In addition, ever since the missing-link, the peculiar advancement of our human brain (within a short evolutionary timeline) and the ever increasing violence from our savage instincts, it leads me to believe we weren’t alone in the beginning, during the birth of our homo-sapiens existence.  

On top of it all, it’s still a mystery of what happened to our fathering ancestors and exactly why did they leave ? Where did they go ? It has left us humans baffled with speculation, only to search for more answers. It’s possible we might find the truth, as mankind takes on a new adventure, searching beyond the safety of mother earth, heading towards another mystery, MARS.  

Maybe, once we reach Mars, all our questions will be answered. Or, just maybe, my screenplay, BLACK ANGELS already tells the story of our ancient ancestors, only referred to as ‘THE GODS OF THE HEAVENS’. It’s now up to Hollywood to bring us closer to the truth by releasing my screenplay BLACK ANGELS

My quote leaves a clue to the storyline of BLACK ANGELS.  The next quote provides a more sinister clue. 

“Pride had cast him down..O to Sacred Earth…a Black Evil has spread across the Lands…O to the horrors of Earth.”

It’s a science-fiction horror genre based on the arrival of our Ancestors and how it changed mankind forever.   

Logline:  Drug addict war hero seeks revenge for brother’s death, risking his crew in a mining expedition on planet ALPHA XL-420 for the priceless Red Crystal, essential to saving their species from a deadly virus.​

The whole purpose of producing my artistic posters is to capture movie producers and directors interest.  Eventually it will be hard to avoid my marketing quest of BLACK ANGELS screenplay.

We Have Arrived – MARS

I’m so happy how my fictional movie poster turned out, “We have Arrived – MARS” has two stories, one related to Going to Mars or Bust and the proposed trilogy BLACK ANGELS.  In reality,  NASA scientists are now in the race with the rest of world, fixed on the possibility of colonizing Mars by 2050.  

We all are looking forward to the same goal – MARS

In the science-fiction world my dreams of what Mars use to be like and who visited it before us, are indeed a part of my vivid imagination.   Meanwhile, artistic ability wants to visualize when we finally arrive on Mars.   What kind of space vehicle will take us there ? Therefore,  it only makes sense I produced the artistic scifi poster.

LUNA – the Orca Child of Mother Earth

I like to tell you a story of LUNA – the Orca Child of Mother Earth, the giver of Peace and Forgiveness.  
But before I do, it’s important to understand the Cycle of Life, the Legends and Symbology of the First Nations People. 
(If you care not to understand, feel free to zip down the page to my story. But you will miss the references and find it hard to relate to the legends of the First Nations People)

UNDERSTANDING THE MEANING OF MY ART PIECE : THE CYCLE OF LIFE 



The Cycle of Life : After 5 years of drawing West Coastal Native Art pieces and studying the First Nations People heritage and how they incorporated their legendary stories within each symbolic art piece, I began drawing and painting my own designs.  
In this particular design I called it : THE CYCLE OF LIFE in respect to little Luna, the Killer Whale that lost its life on March 10, 2006 (aged 6) in Nootka Sound, on the west coast of Vancouver Island. 

FIRST – Let’s understand the legend of each Spiritual Life Giver in respect to the First Nations People.

Let’s begin with the Orca Killer Whale.
THE ORCA KILLER WHALE: 

As you can see in the centre piece, there’s an Orca Killer Whale representing strength and a family bond. The Killer Whale symbolizes the Spirit Guardians of the Sea. It’s been said by the First Nations People, when a human being dies at sea, their soul transforms into a Killer Whale, who protect them from Sea Monsters.

The bonding of family is due to its close net of pods, from hunting to protecting its young from harm. It’s even been known to have killed an aggressive Big White shark, in order to protect its young.

On the right side, you can see the Thunderbird.  

THE THUNDERBIRD:

The Orca may be the master of the sea, but the Thunderbird is the master of the Killer Whale. It is said to have the ability to strike anyone threatening by releasing massive thunder-bolts. It’s food source is the Killer Whale and pretty much everything in its path. But to the First Nations People it has protected it’s people from the Underworld. The Thunderbird is the protector and controller of the Upper World. It also delivers messages from the True Creator, to the First Nations People.
The Creator in First Nations People legend is the Raven.

On top of my art piece is the Spirit Bear. 

THE SPIRIT BEAR :

It has been said, 5000 years ago,in a small village named Yuquot their lived the first people – the Muchalaht off the coast of British Columbia.

The story of the great white Spirit bear, known today as the Kermode, was handed down to their children. It is said that Creator, the Raven, decided to create a reminder of when the world was once covered with ice and snow.

Moving on, the left side is the Great Bald Eagle.  

THE GREAT BALD EAGLE : 

The eagle is a very sacred bird of the sky and it can spiritually transform itself to the First Nations People. The graceful eagle represents power and prestige and is a sacred living spirit offering the gift of predicting the future. The future usually comes with good intentions and prosperity. 

In the centre you find a circle. The circle symbolizes a few things. First it symbolizes the Sun. 

THE SUN : 

The Sun is the provider of the Earth, symbolizing healing energy and life itself. Legend has it, the Creator of all, the Raven one day stole the Sun from evil and placed it in the sky for the prosperity and growth of the First Nations People. The First Nations People honour the Raven for its precious gift. 

AND LAST – You can see the inside outline, symbolizing each tribe of the First Nations People. As the list is long, each province dictates the group of First Nations People, within each oval circle.

AS FOR ME : 

During my studies with the First Nations People on Vancouver Island and the Okanagan, I was referred to has the “Little Bear in the buckskin coat”. Reason being, when a First Nations People first set eyes on you, it’s that moment in time they relate it to you, what they see and where you are.  

As I always wore my buckskin coat (specially design for me) and the fact we were fishing at the time, the next events in time, gave my spiritual name. 
Within minutes of fishing in a canoe on a mountain lake, a lonely bear cub came out of the wilderness to have a drink. 

It was a Spiritual Sign.

My Spiritual Self was quickly named,”Little Bear”. A celebration of life representing strength, humility and kindness. In school, my classmates always referred me to as “buckskin” and the First Nations People ( Okanagan people, spelled Okanogan, called themselves Syilx) would from now on greet me as Little Bear.

AND – the last thing I would like to point out, I have maybe 1/8 of Cree in my blood, but that’s pretty much it. My heritage is mostly Italian and French. Believe you me, when I say, those Frenchmen got around.
My French family goes way back to settlers who first arrived in Tadoussac, a village in Quebec, Canada somewhere around 1600. They were trappers and had close contact with the First Nations People. 
The Innu, Atikamekw, Maliseet, Algonquin, the Naskapi and then eventually the Cree. The Cree were close relatives of the Naskapi in the Cree village of Whapmagoostui, on the eastern shore of Hudson Bay.

And, voila ! 

That’s how I have 1/8 blood of Cree.

MY SPIRITUAL STORY OF LUNA :  

LUNA, the Orca Child of Mother Earth, the Giver of Peace and Forgiveness

The Cycle of Life


This is my own interpretation, a story from the drawing you see now :  

The Orca Killer Whale is the Spirit Guardian of the Sea. It’s the master of all living things in the sea, but needed help to fight the new threat, the growing pollution of the seas. 

After much discussion of its people, it was decided to call on all the spiritual strengths from the sea, the sky and the land of Mother Earth. 

One day the leader of the Orca Killer Whales, known as LUNA, the Orca Child of Mother Earth, the Giver of Peace and Forgiveness, made an alliance with the Thunderbird and the Great Bald Eagle, under the Sun of the First Nations People. 

Under the watchful eye of the Raven, Luna swam to the shores, giving notice to the Strangers-of-the-Land, announcing how the pollutions of the seas are destroying the very Life of the Sea, causing harm to Mother Earth.  

Luna also warned the Strangers-of-the-Land, the Underworld of Evil is near and you should take heed to these warnings.  

The Strangers-of-the-Land mock Luna, saying it was nothing more then a stray orca and said, ” Let’s capture him and he will be our new pet!” 

Outraged by the Strangers-of-the-Land, the First Nations People demanded protection of Luna and heed caution to his very words. 

“I say to you all,” the Grand Chief of the First Nations People, as he bellowed a thundering cry,”Take caution to the words that Luna speaks, for I hear him well. Go forth and clean up the seas and respect the lands of Mother Earth before there’s no turning back. Luna has come with wisdom and peace and all you can do is mock him?!”
The Strangers-of-the-Land laughed at Luna and the Grand Chief of the First Nations People, telling them to go away. With sadness, Luna cried with grief, as he knew the outcome, before it happened. A sacred gift, given to Luna by the Great Bald Eagle. 

In a last ditch effort to free his people from the destructions of the seas and land, and to bring notice to the Strangers-of-the-Land, Luna sacrifice himself, to bring forth the cries of his word across all the lands and all the seas of Mother Earth.
And so, it was done.

One cloudy day, one of the Strangers-of-the-Land’s boat hit poor Luna, killing him instantly. It was then, the world across the lands and seas heard the outcry of Luna, the Orca Child of Mother Earth, the Giver of Peace and Forgiveness.

The world stood still, as they realized what they had done.  

The word was given by the sacrifice of Luna, the Giver of Peace and Forgiveness. Mother Earth heard the cries of Luna, sending forth great tribulations of violent seas and thundering earthquakes across the lands, causing havoc to the dwellers of this earth. 

To this very day, earthquakes, tsunami’s, tornados and cyclones remind man to take heed to its warnings and clean up the pollutions of its lands and seas, before it’s too late. 

Mother Earth will only warn you so many times to respect the sacrifice of Luna, the Orca Child of Mother Earth, the Giver of Peace and Forgiveness

After this time and Luna’s warnings are ignored, Mother Earth will swallow up mankind forever. 

The End

The Raven’s Curse

  
In high school I met a wonderful art teacher, Mr. Wilson. It was he, who noticed my artistic ability was related to abstracts.  

Mr. Wilson was my mentor. 

He introduced me to the Pacific Northwest Native Art, determining I was a natural for this specific kind of art.  

After studying the basic styles, I prepared art pieces related to the aborginal mythology.  My art medium was expressed on canvas, paper, silkscreen  to eventually carving.  Mr. Wilson explained to me, you’re not a true representation of Pacific Northwest Native Art, unless you make your very own craving tools, including the handle.  After fashioning my carving knife representing a bear, mythologically known for the keeper of dreams and memories, I began carving a Killer Whale. 

I was hooked.

Throughout my art classes at VSS (Vernon Senior Secondary) I became good friends with Mr. Wilson.  Afterwards, we went our separate ways. He extended his teaching career at UBC (University of British Columbia ) in Vancouver, while I followed his advice, becoming an Art Teacher. 

After graduating I headed to Okanagan College.  At the time I didn’t know this, but I should have gone to the Emily Carr University of Art and Design.  With very little funds, I couldn’t pursue this avenue of choice.  

At a local Art Exhibit in Kelowna, my art pieces were mistaken for local aboriginals because of the my ability to understand the native culture.  

Everyone enjoyed my art pieces, but I was placed in limbo.  

To the aboriginals, I wasn’t native, so I couldn’t sell my pieces in their art stores. But they were impressed with my work, to the point a local medicine man told me I was under the influence of the Raven.  

The Raven mythology for the Pacific Northwest Native People is referred to has the creators assistant, able to transform into any form at will.  He was responsible for placing the SUN in the sky and supplying the rivers and seas with fish.  It’s also said he loves to trick people, which the medicine man thought I was teased and tricked by the Raven, placing my soul in turmoil.  

The mischievous Raven was laughing  because he placed my artistic soul within the aboriginal culture, knowing all to well, I would not be accepted by the Pacific Northwest Native People or by my own peers. 

So, to this very day, my artistic abilities is still placed in limbo.  

In the beginning I learned the basics of the Pacific Northwest Native Art, expanding to my own artistic style.  It’s my belief, the Raven trickster is still amused by my artistic abilities.

The above photo of my artistic piece called, “Sea to Land – The Spiritual Connection”, is in its preliminary stages.  Planning any art piece, we like to sketch and colour our proposed piece before it goes on canvas.  I would like to eventually place this one on canvas.

When you step off the ARIA Express monorail at Crystals in Las Vegas, you will be surprisingly greeted with an artistic light show. The visually pleasing colour display was created by artist James Turrell.

Its very hard NOT to notice because it’s timed with the arrival and departures of ARIA Express monorail system. “Shards of Color” is actually 1 of 22 art pieces throughout the MGM Resorts CityCenter Properties.

At the time I didn’t realize it, but the cutout in the walls are also part of James Turrell artist approach. I’m kind of embarrassed because I didn’t realize the overall concept; my two years of Applied Arts school failed miserably.

But I did feel the warmth of colours during the interaction of James Turrell display. Didn’t know why, but I felt a soothing calmness immediately stepping off the ARIA Express at Crystals.

My wife was trying to hustling me off to her shopping spree at Crystals when I stopped, saying,” Wait! Look at this, there’s something different here.” Quickly snapped a few pictures.

I knew there was something truly different, but wasn’t aware of an art display. Unfortunately, my wife is not one to appreciate any art piece out of the ordinary. She’s in her glory, just about to embark into her shopping mode, and a little ticked off, she says,” It’s just lights! Come on.”

Artists of the world would cringe at my wife’s words, but I’m not any better for missing the reasoning behind the overall artistic experience. I knew MGM Resorts International had various displayed art pieces throughout its $9.2 billion architecturally designed mega resort, but didn’t take the time to pick-up a brochure.

Maybe it’s because of my earlier experience as an architectural draftsman, my mind was set on the awe-inspiring architectural wonder of ARIA by the prominent Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects firm.

The ARIA, the Veer Towers, the Mandarin Oriental, Crystals and Vdara are all magnificent pieces of brilliance combined together by a selection of creative architects from various firms.

But seeing is believing, experiencing the visual interaction is apparent with or without you knowing the reason behind it. It’s possible this is James Turrell artistic approach.

In Las Vegas there is so much to see and do, your mind is racing by the constant bombardment of delightful surprises. Your brain is a evolutionary refined computer processor, which is quick to “file” your experience until you have time to absorb it.

And that’s exactly what happened.

While in the comfort of my home, I began to trace back the photos taken. It was then I realized the overall importance of James Turrell artistic display called the “Shards of Color”.

Just like James Turrell’s quote,” My art is about your seeing.”

My eyes and mind are now open of the overall experiences at the CityCenter in Las Vegas and next time, I will take more time to explore the 22 pieces of art while staying at ARIA Resort & Casino.
