Nefertiti and Black Angels

The ART piece of Nefertiti and its relationship to Black Angels by Bari Demers.

About Nefertiti:

As you see above, my art piece is the Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, Royalty of the Pharaoh Akhenaten dynasty. However, you can see a remarkable change, including her alien eyes, I cleverly crafted.

Queen Nefertiti is indeed a historical wonder, as there isn’t any trace of a tomb where she may lie today. One recent theory was believed her secret grave might have been hidden beneath the Tutankhamun’s tomb. Unfortunately, a radar scan preformed by a National Geographic team, turned up no visible trace.

The other theory is ( according to Wiki ) “…Nefertiti ruled as Neferneferuaten after her husbands death.”

Whatever may be the case, their dynasty, indeed, was in turmoil.

Nefertiti and Akhenaten ruled together from 1353 to 1336 B.C. Their New Kingdom of the 18th Dynasty turned controversial, due to the upheaval of a new religious structure, where only ONE GOD, ATUM was introduced, rejecting the earlier Egyptian beliefs of many GODS. After their deaths, the Egyptian Priests defaced all transcripts and monuments, changing back to the original worshipping of, “The Gods of the Heavens.”

Unfortunately today, archeologists are having a rough time trying to solve the mystery of “Where does the Tomb of Nefertiti lie ?”

It may be as simple as tomb robbers have already taken the riches, fading into history. Optimist I am ( sound like Yoda – lol Read also Obi-Wan) it’s my belief it’s just a matter of time before they solve the puzzle behind our mysterious Queen Nefertiti.

Graphic Art Explained:

The before image ( as you see) is the original artifact, presently on display at the Neues Museum in Berlin, Germany.

[Follow me on Instagram for more digital art displays.]

My transformation of Nefertiti took over 8 hours, into the image you see now. There are several stages of intricate artwork to transform my art of Nefertiti into the goddess for my genre science-fiction horror screenplay Black Angels.

I’m NOT a professional graphic artist but a freelance screenwriter. Even still, I do have two years of Applied Arts from Okanagan College in Kelowna , BC, Canada 🇨🇦(way back in the 70’s). Since then technology and graphic art techniques have changed drastically with the help of computers. If I were to restart my career today I would apply at the Visual College of Art and Design (VCAD) in Vancouver. Here they provide excellent courses on Visual Effects Art and Design, Graphic Design, Game Development and Design. Maybe then I would be accepted at MPC Film ( Movie Picture Film Company), also in Vancouver.

As they say,” It is what it is”, meaning I can’t change my history.

However, any ART I do is often an expression of who I am inside. Be it, writing my science-fiction stories or painting, it means so much to me personally. Maybe one day I will be as famous as Picasso, like so many dead artist are. Who knows?

The Relationship of Black Angels :

Lately, my concentration of my art is simply to promote my screenplay Black Angels. I want my audience (scifi fans) to envision my characters within my storyline.

BLACK ANGELS – “Pride had cast him down..O to Sacred Earth…a Black Evil has spread across the Lands…O to the horrors of Earth.” BMD

It’s inevitable.

Black Angels is a science-fiction horror genre based on the arrival of our Ancestors and how it changed mankind forever.

Nefertiti is a descendant of Queen Siri .

Queen Siri is believed to be one of “The Gods of the Heavens” who traveled here from Planet Sirius 5, within the Canis Major Constellation.

Even though ancient Egyptians built remarkable architectural pyramids, they still weren’t the true gods from the heavens. Even though the “Gods of the Heavens” did visit earth, they left due to mysterious reasons. I believe my screenplay has cracked the case on what really happened to our alien ancestors. Queen Siri was a descendant of the true gods, who helped the human Egyptian race to form their ancient culture. After the “Gods of the Heavens” disappeared, they tried to imitate the gods as best as they could, but still were not as effective as the gods were.

The pyramid structures of today are a good example of this.

Nefertiti was indeed a real Egyptian Queen and a legacy to the Egyptian history. Even though she was descendant of Queen Siri , only Queen Siri and her crew were responsible in transforming us human beings into what we are today. It’s my believe, theses gods were a highly advanced civilization who discovered earth over 150,000 years ago, in the time mankind was still trying to get a foothold on earth. With cross genetic manipulation, man’s evolution was fast forward into the creation of a different kind human race. Different in, if mankind continued on without altering our genetics and followed the evolutionary timeline, it would have taken man another two millions years to develop correctly.

It brings into question, “why we are the way we are today?”

Today, it’s obvious how a destructive race of human beings we can be. Our history and religion surely shows our cruel vindictive selfs. Maybe if the “Gods of the Heavens” were here today, guiding us into a better race of people, (we so far miserably failed) we may have become a more peaceful respectable human species, without war, crime and deceit.

Unfortunately, something terrible happened to our true ancestors and it’s my belief my story of Black Angels explains their fate. It may be, they’re secretly here on Earth – you never know!

I hope you enjoy my ART and stories. Please support my efforts by either purchasing my art or gifting within my stories.

The Raven’s Curse

In high school I met a wonderful art teacher, Mr. Wilson. It was he, who noticed my artistic ability was related to abstracts.

Mr. Wilson was my mentor.

He introduced me to the Pacific Northwest Native Art, determining I was a natural for this specific kind of art.

After studying the basic styles, I prepared art pieces related to the aborginal mythology.  My art medium was expressed on canvas, paper, silkscreen  to eventually carving.  Mr. Wilson explained to me, you’re not a true representation of Pacific Northwest Native Art, unless you make your very own craving tools, including the handle.  After fashioning my carving knife representing a bear, mythologically known for the keeper of dreams and memories, I began carving a Killer Whale.

I was hooked.

Throughout my art classes at VSS (Vernon Senior Secondary) I became good friends with Mr. Wilson.  Afterwards, we went our separate ways. He extended his teaching career at UBC (University of British Columbia ) in Vancouver, while I followed his advice, becoming an Art Teacher.

After graduating I headed to Okanagan College.  At the time I didn’t know this, but I should have gone to the Emily Carr University of Art and Design.  With very little funds, I couldn’t pursue this avenue of choice.

At a local Art Exhibit in Kelowna, my art pieces were mistaken for local aboriginals because of the my ability to understand the native culture.

Everyone enjoyed my art pieces, but I was placed in limbo.

To the aboriginals, I wasn’t native, so I couldn’t sell my pieces in their art stores. But they were impressed with my work, to the point a local medicine man told me I was under the influence of the Raven.

The Raven mythology for the Pacific Northwest Native People is referred to has the creators assistant, able to transform into any form at will.  He was responsible for placing the SUN in the sky and supplying the rivers and seas with fish.  It’s also said he loves to trick people, which the medicine man thought I was teased and tricked by the Raven, placing my soul in turmoil.

The mischievous Raven was laughing  because he placed my artistic soul within the aboriginal culture, knowing all to well, I would not be accepted by the Pacific Northwest Native People or by my own peers.

So, to this very day, my artistic abilities is still placed in limbo.

In the beginning I learned the basics of the Pacific Northwest Native Art, expanding to my own artistic style.  It’s my belief, the Raven trickster is still amused by my artistic abilities.

Here’s some more Pacific Northwest Native Art pieces I did – MY ART

In the end, my arts career extended to writing, screenwriting and the Arts.

NOTE

The above photo of my artistic piece called, “Sea to Land – The Spiritual Connection”, is in its preliminary stages.  Planning any art piece, we like to sketch and colour our proposed piece before it goes on canvas.  I would like to eventually place this one on canvas.

The Harmon

20140506-222600.jpg

When I took the above photo, it was only with my iPhone. Unfortunately that day I didn’t carry my Nikon. I Love the reflection of the Cosmopolitan on The Harmon Hotel.

Interesting story of The Harmon residence in Las Vegas, Nevada.

During 2008, construction was suddenly stop on the 26 floor due to apparent defects. The outside appearance doesn’t give any trace of structural chaos. However construction problems were recorded by the Clark County inspectors, unfortunate for such a beautiful architectural building from the outside.

The Harmon residency is presently in the hands of the courts, each party blaming the other, a long legal battle no one would ever want to partake. Well, except the lawyers.

As my first career, starting off as an architectural draftsman, I can imagine the stress left to the architects Foster & Partners. Such a beautiful building used as an expensive billboard along with the staggering cost of $275 million, only left in limbo.

I hope the fate of The Harmon Residency turns around and becomes a sound structure in the near future. It would be such a shame to tear it down, but it’s in prime real estate, owned by the MGM Resorts International and it’s shareholders.

The enormous cost to rebuild is twice of its original price tag and I’m thinking it serves as a good tax rebate.

But, let your imagination harness the possibilities of what The Harmon can become.

As a screenwriter today along with my past architectural experience, I imagine The Harmon as a theme science-fiction hotel for Star Wars, Star Trek or even the Alien Trilogy. Or how about the Marvel Comics theme with each floor, lounge and restaurant showcasing the super-heroes, such as : Superman, Iron Man, Captain America, X-Men, Batman and Spider-Man.

The casinos would have a blast offering slot machines from the above super-heroes. After all, let’s not forget we’re in Vegas! The marketing is endless, bringing in a large crowd of followers from across the world.

The future of The Harmon depends on the Judges and the American legal system. But if it were up to me, this architectural wonder would become a safe haven for Star War fans. If Walt Disney can make a dream come true, so can we.

UPDATE :

The Harmon is close to been completely dismantled- June 23 2015.

Screenplay – Blood, Sweat & Tears

20140425-094059.jpg

You just finished your screenplay. Congratulations!

Now what?

You have a couple of choices, SUBMIT or MAKE FILM.

First, you can spend years submitting and re-submitting to agents, producers and what-not within the film industry. Constantly receiving rejection after rejection, realizing your FILM IDEA isn’t everyone’s passion. To everyone else, it’s just another screenplay amongst thousands of others submitted each month.

And to make matters worse, are those who will gladly take your screenplay without question! But, and this is a big BUTT, only after you PAY them first.

Oh wait!

Did you just say,”You must pay them to pass along or read your screenplay?”

Unfortunately, THEY are what we like to call,” Bottom-feeders” or in my mind “Trolls” who feed off on your desperation. Unknown to you, you submit your screenplay and hard earn cash, expecting results.

In reality, they quickly pocket the cash and shred it, not really caring of the years of blood, sweat and tears it took you to write your master piece. The worst scenario ? They actually read it, finding your screenplay ingeniously executed. Quickly change the name and author, sending it to known connections as their own. A year or two later, you hear or see a short-movie or part of your script on TV.

Your first reaction? You’re crushed! What happen? How could they possibly steal my idea?

This seems to possibly have happened to me.

Have you heard of AGENT SKY before? I wrote a short script, of an Agent called Sky. Somehow or is it by mere coincidence, I noticed the same name on a popular TV Series. A couple of years before I had submitted AGENT SKY to Hollywood.

You get the picture.

BEFORE you submit your screenplay to anyone, be very sure you REGISTRY it with one or both, the WGC (Writers Guide of Canada) and or the WGA West (Writers Guide of America).

Secondly, if you have to PAY big bucks for them to see your work, something is wrong.

It’s a RED-FLAG.

I understand there may be registration fees, when submitting a short film to Sundance Films, but as far as screenplays are concerned, the cost (if anything) shouldn’t be more than $65 at best, or ideally, FREE. For example, as a UK citizen, a couple times a year BBC will allow you to submit your script for a TV Series or film for FREE.

In North America, everyone wants administration fees in order to process your script. To me, it’s just another “Cash Cow” opportunity feeding off your desperation. But, it’s becoming the “norm” practice, with everyone getting on the bandwagon. Do your research and ask well known established institutions, such as WGA or WGC; even Sundance Institute may help you in the right direction.

Preparation for submitting your screenplay will undoubtably cost you a grand total of $150 with registrations fees to both WGA and WGC, including whoever you decide to submit to.

But it’s worth every penny and considerate it as the lesser evil of what can happen if you don’t.

Always keep records and copies of your screenplay throughout your creation. This way, if you ever have to sue someone for illegally using your script, you have written proof of the timeline and the creative process.

The second option sounds more inviting, but takes a lot of work and commitment. Not saying your screenplay wasn’t work.

FILM MAKING

“I envision a story and bring it to life” James Montana Films.

These are my words, passionate about the film industry. If you want something done, you’re just going to have to do it yourself.

First and foremost, I would like to point out, I’m NOT a professional Film Maker. Just another screenwriter amongst hundreds of thousands of other hopeful souls who would like to see their screenplay storyline as the next blockbuster film.

In fact, Black Angels could easily be made into a trilogy from past to present; my imagination is wildly inventive.

James Montana Films is in the infancy of working with established professional film companies in Canada and Unites States to produce short films or introductory start-up films for group funding, such as KickStarter.
My first project is Black Angels of Sirus 5.

James Montana Films is about screenwriting to filming using a professional film crew who are already established. I will also use professional FX (Visual effects) professional companies, such as, GFZ Studios located in Vancouver, B.C.

This is only the preliminary stages of James Montana Films who is part of Canadian Northwest Studios.

After producing my film presentation for crowd funding, such as KickStarter, my next step would be to produce a Short Film – Scifi for Sundance Institute in Colorado.

Ideally, a corporate film executive will see your work on screen at Sundance, YouTube or maybe Vimeo, taking the necessary steps to execute your story and bring it to life after years of blood, sweat and tears.

Is this option too costly for you ?

If you can’t afford it, begin by taking film classes and or joining up with your local film society ,like Fava (Film and Video Arts Society of Alberta).

The resources to making a film is not easy, but at least you will have the satisfaction that a portion or all of your script will be seen by an audience, either on YouTube or favourably at Sundance.

If you already have a firm idea and screenplay in-hand, along with a budget, you can directly hire a film crew, like Fat Monster Films in Los Angeles California or Sepia Films in Vancouver, B.C.

Whatever you decide…

It takes time, patients and passion along with blood, sweat and tears.

Artists – Lend Me Your Ears!

20140416-130559.jpg

Artist, Writers, Photographers and Screenwriters – Lend me your ears!

All artists fall into this Category, “Starving Artist” sometime in their lives. It’s the same old “catch-22” predicament facing mutual conditions in order to express ourselves, either on canvas, paper or a medium of choice.

Expression is a natural transition since birth. We didn’t choose it; It choose us.

Creativity is a part of who we are.

Every since I can remember doodling, painting, photography and writing, I envisioned my stories to life. Some kids are born prodigies while most of us struggle to become better artists. Others are immediately recognized when most of us hide in the shadows hoping one day we too will get our 15 minutes of fame.

Meanwhile, we keep plugging on taking courses to improve our craft, knowing all to well, our artistic expression is more of a curse than a blessing. We already know we’re grouped with hundreds of thousands of individuals working on the same goal.

The “gifted” ones race to the front-of-the-line before us, just like winning a lottery ticket. Their immediate success sparks the interest of the general public, giving them the golden seal of approval. Today’s social platforms increase visibility through Facebook, Twitter and YouTube like an energizing bunny.

What is an artist to do?

So, here we are. Artists of the World, lend me your ears!

Come forth and shout out your name. Showcase your craft in the comments below. The more comments, the more google will track our presence, and the more we’ll become visible. Post this article on Facebook and Twitter.
